Ritz Carlton, is my favorite chain, love them! I also love the Four Seasons! But, my all time favorite hotel is The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virgina!

Isn't Embassy Suites a big one? I like those. I know it isn't motel 6. They might leave the light on. But didn't have a good experience

For a quick overnight I like the Best Western...Not too much money and there is usually a free breakfast of some sort.

There is a really nice Best Western hotel near us. I stayed at it on my wedding night. I really like it. The Hyatt is really nice too.

How can anyone possibly choose Holiday Inn and Best Western over Hyatt? Five star rating is awarded for a reason.

You said it before we did. Those two are tops. Besides the Ritz and Four Seasons, however, if you use a general type hotel, the Hilton chain seems to have good quality in a range of price points...all pretty nice places to stay. We use Holiday Inn Express for business stays and they are very hit or miss. Some are clean and great, others...not so much.

I have stayed at some decent Holiday Inn's, however never have I seen or stayed at a Best Western that I didn't think needed major cleaning and work. Musty, and not too clean every time. Will never stay there again. Hyatt's are in a different class...above those other two.

I am a Hilton Member so I tend to try to stay in the Hilton-owned chains like DoubleTree to get the points towards a free night.

Holiday Inn. We travel a lot and it is always easy to find one.

My wife gets Hilton points through work. She hasn't been traveling lately, but she's got a bundle saved up, so we often stay at the Hilton Garden Inn or Embassy/Homewood Suites when we travel together.

By myself, I just get the cheapest local non-chain place I can find. The kind of place where all the rooms smell like cigarette smoke and where it's not unusual to see (or at least hear) a fight. I just look at it as free entertainment.
