I think starting out at a park, maybe start flirting. Then share some stories while enjoying dinner before haeding off to the movies. At the end of the night have a great first kiss. Sounds romantic to me.

My first date with my love consisted of everything above except for the movie, and it was amazing

I like something very casual as a first date cause to me a formal type of meal (restaurant) just adds extra stress which will turn out as a flop - for me.
A movie to me isn't a good first date cause you're too busy watching the movie rather than getting to know each other.

Never did understand the Movie thing. Sitting in silence....together. Unless you spend more time together afterwards, with a good movie (hopefully) behind you, as a "sure, safe" topic of commonality to discuss. An ice breaker, as it were.

Best first date for me ever was a picnic lunch, listening to live music in a park. Blind date...with someone I knew well, but only from school. Ended up pretty well...32 years later we are STILL happily married.

Something active so there is no awkwardness. My all time favorite is mini golf

I never understood going to a movie on a date. You not going to be getting to know one another. Seems pointeless.

I also don't think movies are good for first dates since you don't get much of a chance to talk.

My favorite is a Picnic. A sunrise with Mimosas, bagels, pastry and a lot of laughs and stories. I am a die hard romantic. I love this and have used it many times; though it has been too long.

I like a movie. You don't have awkward silences and if you're weird about eating in front of someone then you don't have to eat.

i would love to go to a fair or something. somewhere where we could ride rides & play games.

Well, it would depend on what time we got started. If we met up in the middle of the day, maybe grab a coffee and go for a walk. Outside if it's nice enough. I've also gone to the science center and museum for first dates...gives us something to talk about without getting too heavy in the personal stuff, but without totally shutting each other off, as would happen in a movie. And then later get something to eat, or maybe just sit down in a cafe to really get talking.
Or if it was later in the day, meet up for dinner first, and go for a walk afterward.
I do like seeing how a date acts around waitstaff, because if he's going to be rude to someone he's dealing with on an impersonal basis, he's probably going to be rude to me.
And then, if the date goes well, say good night and hope for a kiss. If there's nothing, just a "Nice meeting you, take care" and move on. I do so hate the "I'll call you later" when it means "I'll call you never."

The last "first date" I went on was with my boyfriend. It lasted a full 24 hours! And no, there was no sex. We just hit it off really well We started out for coffee, headed down to the park and played on the playground a bit, told LOTS of silly stories, eventually grabbed a bite to eat once we were feeling hungry. Ran into a friend of mine who invited us to the pub for her birthday, so we went. After a few drinks, headed to a different bar for another friend of mine's birthday. All the while there was plenty of flirtation, of course. He lived nearby so after that we headed back to his place, and there was some kissing for sure, but I'm not a first-date-sex kinda girl, so we stopped it there and just cuddled all night.
Best first date I've ever been on. Our 2nd lasted almost double that time- and still, no sex

A location where both people would be comforatable. Not quite, but not too romantic either. I like to go to a restaraunt where they have outdoor things to do (i.e. - ping pong tables, corn-hole) to help break the ice. Makes me feel at ease. And always, hope to have fun and wish for a good-night kiss or at least a peck

a dinner is a good way to start it off, that way if you know you can't stand the guy, you can bail before the movie. I've done that. If I liked the guy at dinner, I'd always look forward to the movie afterwards.

Dinner and a walk around a nice park. Or even just lounging at a park and talking.
10/26/2011
Well, if we could skip that lot and go straight to bed, I'd be okay with it. But, I suppose, if I must, then the dinner would be a good idea. Get to know her a little.

Movie then dinner

Dinner is the best. Good food, good talks. Never been into seeing a movie on a date - that's like two hours you learn nothing about the other person.
12/06/2011
All would be good!

Movies are nice. It's a little difficult to get to know your date. Dinner is always a huge hit. Everyone has to eat!

I really love the whole dinner thing. I think you really get to know a lot about a person by eating with them.
