We all know that everything what has ever been tried had the chance to fail, and everything did seem to fail over time: monarchies, oligarchical ruling, democracy, way to communism through socialism, tribal system (just to mention the most well-known systems), and we also know that no matter how much you try, people are just people, and there will always be people who really don't give a heck about anything, ruining anything with their greed/carelessness...

Considering all you know about history and what you have seen in your lifetime, what would be the best social structure in your opinion?

I doubt anyone's going to come up with a brand new scheme that has never been tried before, one that is not going to fail. All have failed - but all have succeeded, too.

A series of small republics unified into a loosely knit large republic for mutual protection and free trade. Namely, what the United States was supposed to be, as opposed to what it is.

When any society grows too large, it will collapse. When any government grows too involved in the lives of it's citizens, it will collapse. When any citizenry discovers it can vote itself the money of other citizens, it will collapse. The second plan for the United States allowed the most personal autonomy for citizens and the least legal scope for government corruption, though the government went ahead and blew past it.
