I just bought my very first car today, and I was curious, what was your first car? Was it brand new, used, what kind of condition was it in? How old was it? What color was it? Would you still drive it today?

Congrats! Mine was a 1956 chevy Bel Air 4 door convertable it was my dad's, great condition, 14 years old, 2 tone white and green, and yes I would still drive it, in fact I do I still have it, and it is worth a fortune now.

Mine was a 92 Toyota Camry. Bought used. We thought it was in good condition, however just a month after having it, we had SO many problems with it. We finally got everything worked out on it (almost a year later) and I still currently drive it!
Hubby's first car was a 79 Chevy Nova. He loves that thing. He bought it used of course. It is not in the best shape, but it's almost better shape than my car right now! Haha. We still own it, but it's not driven all the time. We want to get it fixed up nice.

My first car was a 1987 nissan 300ZX - silver w/ t-tops and navy leather interior. I bought it in 1999 when I was 17. It was a sweet little car but way too fast for me to be driving it with so little experience. Based on the way it folded in half like a taco shell when it got t-boned (the car that hit me was a Mercury Marquis - the only damage to that vehicle was that the license plate fell off when it totaled my car), I wouldn't drive one again. I'm also partial to Chevys now anyway.

My first car that was mine alone was an 87 Dodge Aries. Before that, I had to share an 87 Plymouth Horizon with my mom.

The first car I ever bought for myself is my beloved Honda Fit in pepsi-bottle-blue. I love it. The gas efficiency, the way the seats fold up or down...We've been together for more than a year, and I guess we're still in the honeymoon phase.

1992 Chevy Corsica, bought in 2004 for $500. It had been sitting in a beachside condo parking lot for two months before I got it - the breaks caught fire on the way home. Had to replace all of the wire due to salt corrosion, and fix a couple of other things. Then my ex-husband lost the title, so I had to find the guy who sold it to me (fortunately he was with the police department so I was able to look him up easily).
Drove all the way from Florida to Montana in it. It was a tough little car. We named it 'Evil Ernie' after the comic book character because the car was a resurrected zombie. It survived to December 14, 2008, when the transmission died at a four-way stop during morning rush-hour. My mechanic told me he was surprised that it lasted as long as it had (he'd been telling me to get a new car every time I brought it in while we lived in Montana). My Dad (who helped me restore it) finally told me that he was surprised we made it out of Georgia, let alone it lasting that long.
Poor old Ernie, but at least he got to go on a road trip before he finished out his days.

I "first" car was my brothers hand me down and it was an 88 Acura Integra, but I don't really considered it mine because it was my brothers the whole time I was driving it. So, my first real car was a 96 Honda Accord coupe. And I loved that car! It was 6 years old, so used, but the AC in it sucked!

My first car was a 1968 Ford Fairlane with a sweet 289 cu. in. small block V-8. It was a hand-me-down from my Mom and was in terrible condition. I had to practically rebuild it. It was a great experience which I have benefited from my whole life - the auto-shop guys can't blow smoke at me - I know most of their tricks by now.

My first car was a Ford Tempo. I'm not sure what year it was, but it had seen better days when I got it. It was white with a black stripe down the side. It put cow print seat covers in it to cover the stains. I loved that I had a car, but it gave me alot of trouble.

My first car was a 1979 Ford Mustang. It was beautiful, and sexy and I looked good driving it.......it was a piece of crap. The transmission was dying and I didn't know it, they jerry rigged it until the warrentee wore out, then I though I was shit out of luck. The first thing The Man and I did when we got home from our honey moon was to get rid of that car. It made weird noises it was always in the shop. I spent time sitting in the front seat of tow trucks, with my "sexy" Mustang being dragged behind us to the shop. We bought a bitty Mitsubishi, which had the BEST mileage of any car I have EVER owned, but we had to get rid of that when I was pregnant with our second baby, because two car seats wouldn't fit in it. Since then I have had a multitude or minivans, a Jeep (a piece of crap) and now, my Minivan phase is over.
Now,I have a PT Cruiser, I love this little car, but is always in the shop. Good looking cars and I don't get along, I guess.
I have never had a new car. *sigh* Always had to deal with the stuff associated with used cars.

Our first car was a used '96 dodge neon. For an older car is was in great shape when we bought it. But with much mileage added, it was on it's last leg at the end of it. 2 months ago we bought a 2008 dodge caliber, used.....I LOVE IT!

My first car was an 87 Jeep Cherokee Chief (it was actually its own model for a very short time). I loved that car so much, and if the gas mileage wasn't so horrible and the head gasket hadn't blown, I'd still have it.
The very first car I paid for myself was an 83 Cadillac Seville. I had to let it go last year, but now I have an 81 and it's in much better shape
