What time period would you have liked to live in?

Contributor: remember.me remember.me
Anyone ever thought they'd fit in better in a past era or time period? I'm a big fan of the 1800s in England! You?

Any time with running water and toilets would be fine.

I think it would be fun to travel back in time for a week or so, but I like this period of time just fine!

I am a big fan of being comfortable. I like the modern day technologies, but could do with a little more simplicity!

Truth is, I think me and my hubby would rather live 1000 years from now. We are big SciFi buffs and HOPE mankind and the Earth has a brighter (rather then Dystopean) future. Think "Star Trek", rather then "Blade Runner".

Either the 1800's, the 1700's, the 1400's or before Jesus Christ. Or hell. 20 000 years from now.

I would want to be a teenager at Woodstock! Otherwise, I don't want to go back in time.

I'm happy here, but it sure would be nice to visit the future and have access to technological and medical advances. I think certain historical events would be fun to visit too, like seeing the building of the pyramids, or stonehenge. I wouldn't want to travel in time and then stay because I would miss my husband and my family terribly. In fact, if my husband couldn't come with me, I'm not sure I would even go... I don't know though. That's a tough one.

Mid 1800s in Georgia or Mississippi living in a plantation home.
I am very interested in the civil war time period and even though there were a lot of terrible things happening then I just feel like I would have fit better in that time.
All those huge beautiful dresses and homes, I just love it

You make a good point. Time traveling in general (but not staying) JUST to see things would be pretty awesome in itself

I am also a big fan of the regency era! Everything was so virginal! Just showing ankle made you a whore, lol. However, if I was born back then I'd probably be a servant class and then that completely kills the fantasy, lol.

I've said I wouldn't mind living in a time where things were more conservative, but I must have toilets, power, water, etc and of course, female rights! I guess I'm better off staying in this time period, but having a tiny bit of the old fashioned ways would be fabulous to me. I've grown up in the south. Georgia to be exact.

My aunt, shes' pretty obsessed with the whole victorian ages stuff. She's so knowledgable about everything to do with those times and so much other stuff! She's big on history. That woman is full of amazing information. Comes in handy for me, a writer!

Haha. I think I'd have been safe, I love wearing socks so showing my ankles isn't my thing :O Of course, I would have missed socks, did they even HAVE socks? Probably not. Okay...I'd be in trouble lol

That would come in handy! I would write if I had a good enough attention span.

I would probably miss toilets and running water though, for sure!

I think I would've liked living in the old west, like on a homestead. The whole cowboys and Indians era has always been interesting to me. Of course, given the choice, I'd probably just visit. I blame all those hours of playing The Oregon Trail in school.

I would also love the south during the colonial times, when America was just getting started as its own nation. I'm from the south, and I love it here. I bet it would have been a sight to see back then.
