What sort of deodorant do you use?

Contributor: surreptitious surreptitious
I have sensitive skin and can really only use either Secret or Dove deodorants (out of the dozen or so popular brands I've tried). I currently have Truth or Pear
and Va Va Vanilla by Secret.

Do any of you use natural deodorants or make your own? I'd be interested in hearing about the effectiveness of different types or the process of making a deodorizing product at home.

Degree is the only one that seems to work for me. The crystals work pretty good but I have always gone back to degree

I use Soft and Dry. I always put deodorant on after I shave my under arms because my skin is sensitive and needs to be re-hydrated. Soft and Dry is the most gentle for me.

I use baking soda. My friend uses salt crystals and they work great for him, I need to grab one sometime.

secret ph balance. i've found that it works better at keeping me dry than the clinical strength. it's cheaper, too.

I've been through several brands over the past few years, and Secret seems to work the best for me.

Oddly enough, for all of it's claims for being good on sensitive skin, I have allergic reactions to most Dove products.

I agree with you on Dove I am allergic to almost all their stuff as well.

I use Degree Motion Sense

Dove Clinical Protection is what I'm using now, I got them when I had my last job and we had a zillion samples so the office staff took a bunch of them home and they've kept me well supplied (and still many more to go!) for a year now! When that runs out, I'm not sure what I'll use, I typically would just buy whatever was on sale that smelled really nice, because I'm not sensitive to any ingredients and I don't sweat a lot so I don't need super protection.

I use the Arm and Hammer natural deodorant. It isn't really "natural" like it says, but it is aluminum-free. I've tried everything from baking soda to crystal deodorants to essential oil blends, but sadly they don't work for me.

I use Lady Speedstick, the kind that doesn't leave the white residue on your clothes!

This is what I've been using too. I used to always stick with Degree though. As a teen I wore Teen Spirit, lol.

I only use deodorants opposed to antiperspirants, although it's something i've fond myself using less and less of. My partner and i both ritually use Tom's natural deodorant, however the other night i opted for the cheaper all natural mineral salts crystals roll on deodorant, but i havent noticed it doing much in the way of smell, but it dose help with the sweating some.

I use Secret when I think I'll need it. I don't have much body odor most days so I usually just put on perfume in the morning.

I like Dove for sensitive skin. If something doesn't say for sensitive skin, it usually irritates my skin from shaving.

I just bought Dove's clinical protection in the scent of plum and sakura blossom because the scent sounded lovely. I heard using the crystals are good. Also, try using Tom's unscented and then using an essential oil of your choice for the scent...or you can make your own =)

I love Secret's Natural Mineral deodorant, it's the only one that works for me without fail. It claims it neutralizes odor vs masking it.
