What smell really gets you going?

On the other end of the spectrum, that metallic-y scent of metal. I know, it's strange. less

Nothing quit like leather and my wife's natural smell

For me it's cedar, for the same reason Angel deSanguine mentioned. Also leather.

Yeah, it's just the association thing - Mulder usually has a drink after he gets off work and is waiting for me to arrive, then we have our fun within the next few hours.

Oh, and Italian food smells - garlic seems to act like an aphrodisiac for him (him being Italian, I guess) and the sex turns rather intense after those dinners. LOL

Chocolate gets me especially the KamaSutra chocolate dust, it smells like warm cocoa and now my bedroom does as well...makes me all NOM NOM NOM! I love musk colognes on men, but lightly so that you have to get real close to smell it and the smell of man is there as well, WOW.
I love the way Arch smells, it was the main thing that attracted me to him from the very beginning. One whiff and I was all like "AIR RAID" and jump his bones! It's a combination of him, the laundry soap he uses and the personal care products like deodorant and toothpaste oddly enough. If they could bottle that scent I would be a raging monster all the time!
With Sigel it is a bit less intense probably because we've been together for over 20 years but when I go visit Arch and come home it's like meeting Sigel again dfor the first time. He smells like coming home and that is A-freakin-mazing!

The smell of fall. Just that scent in the air as the season changes. It brings back fond memories of when my husband and I met. Also, the smell of his mouth and lips after he brushes his teeth. The toothpaste leaves a sweet taste on them and his lips are so soft too.
I really like when he wears Calvin Klein's Eternity Summer, or any cologne that has a similar sort of smell to it.

Sandalwood is my favorite smell in the whole world, although I like "warm" smells (bakery, spicey, etc.) in general. I'm actually at a point where I own 3 very-sandalwood-y perfumes (out of a total of 5) and I'm restricting myself from buying anything else with sandalwood in it.

Pine Sol. I use it in my laundry and clean my carpets with it. I soak my uniforms in it before washing. That or Lysol. Some of our gyn patients are like dumpster diving sometimes (Hawaii has a lot of pregnant homeless women who are hooked on methamphetamines and sell sex for drugs and avoid soap).Bleach, love the smell but really don't own anything white. Lysol original scent, Dial soap baby powder and vanilla. Thierry Mugler's Angel Man, Jean Paul Gautier, Prada Pour Homme and Clean Men by Fusion. I like soapy scents. Angel however is coffee, chocolate and leather. I hate the smell of Honolulu when the wind isn't blowing hard. Hawaii is like a giant land fill with apartments built over it, and it smells that way. My least favorite smell is garlic.

I love the smell of lemon. It makes me just curl my toes. But, the smell of Polo on a man is almost good enough to have me explode just with one whiff. Yum!!

I find it to be a pretty masculine scent, in my opinion, as long as it isn't mixed with vanilla. Sort of reminds me of stoners and the guys I went to school with (who didn't always stop with marijuana) Who knows why I find that sexy. Maybe the lazy-eyed look.

I think it traces back to one of the boys I dated in high school but the smell of drakaar noir (did I spell that right?) drives me CRAZY to this day.

I find it to be a feminine scent because it reminds me of shrines and temples I visited as a kid, and those I associate very strongly with Buddhist and Taoist icons, like the Guan-Yin, who is, in as few words as possible, a "Goddess of Mercy". So I guess that's why I associate the scent with a goddess figure rather than something more masculine

I always find it interesting how two people can perceive the same thing two totally different ways. Exposure, I think, has a lot to do with how you associate scents. Halls cough drops will always be an "old man" smell in my mind.

Okay well I am crazy for the smell of a Lilac tree - just one bush will make an entire yard smell like you're walking through heaven.
Then of course there is sulfur (the smell of a post-fireworks explosion)
I love Lagerfeld cologne and Tom Ford too... Thats why I wear it... It turns me on... And it ensured that even if I go home alone, I'll still get laid.

I love the natural smells of people's bodies, men and women, so long as they are relatively clean. I prefer the smell of someone who hasn't just showered, where the scent has concentrated in the hair, nape of neck, chest, and groin... although I do not like for them to reek of someone who hasn't washed in days or smelly pits and/or feet.
I get turned on by natural scents, but few flowery or fruity scents. I love honeysuckle and pear for instance, lightly sweet and not over powering.
I like perfume or cologne only when it mixes well with a person's own smell and is very light, not over taking the smell of them, but enhancing it.

I am very on board with this. The sweaty, musky, hot smell isn't exactly pleasant (we all know there are levels that are close to sickening) but it is absolutely an individual, personal scent, and that alone gets me going.

I love when my sweetheart will say 'don't touch me! I'm all sweaty!'... oh, I'll make you sweat, my boy...

Exactly! I don't mind a bit of sweat and muskiness, especially during sex. I miss the nights where we used to have vigorous sex all night long. That was in the beginning, in a twin bed, in his tiny bedroom, at his grandparent's house where he had to stay after his divorce. We would go shower after round two or three, and come back to the room and to the heady scent of our "love den", made to seem stronger by our absence from it for a bit and our noses filled with the fresh scent of our newly washed bodies. The scent of sweat and musk and sex surrounded us and got us turned on even more. Aaahhhh yes... those were the days!

I find the best smell for me is in the morning, where maybe my man showered the night before but the warmth of sleeping bound in the blankets has concentrated his scent. Yummmm... alas I haven't been able to enjoy that smell much since having our son

I voted for 3: Leather, I used to ride horses, and I still LOVE the smell of saddlery. Obsession for Men, my first boyfriend wore it and just the slightest whiff gets me going. The post-shower, clean and fresh husband smell.
