Sorry if this is too "heavy" for a Saturday, but I've been reading a lot about the situation in Syria and in short, it's a real mess. The government is killing civilians on a daily basis and the rebels want outside help, especially direct military aid (e.g. guns, etc). So far the US and other Western nations have mostly been on the sidelines, publicly disapproving of Assad's actions, but not wanting to risk any direct involvement.
Personally, I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. If you have an informed opinion, what do you think Western nations should do about the situation in Syria? Should we stay out of it, should we offer aid to the rebels (and if so, should that include weapons), or should we offer military support to the rebels (as we did in Libya)?
