Ok, this is probably going to be the stupidest post in the history of Eden, BUT, I keep getting shit from my family and friends to update my work info on my REAL facebook account. Now, as most of you know, I am a Cam Girl, now this doesn't seem like it would really fly with alot of the family and friends that I have on there, so I am taking it to the boards. I do a few other things, like write for SexIs, granted it is not a paying job, though I do technically get paid in points which funds my regular job in the form of toys and outfits. And I am a reviewer. So, I dont want to totally make something up so I am coming to you guys. What should I list my work as, and please, have mercy!
What should I list as my ' Job '?

I'm actually in the same boat as you. I'm interested to see what people come up with!

I'd tell them to screw off if you're not comfortable putting what you do on your Facebook page.
If people ask what I do with my days and I think they wouldn't approve I usually default to "product testing and reviewing." I don't have anything on my FB.

If it were me, I would tell them, but since you don't think it would fly well. I would go with something along the lines of product tester, reviewer, and magazine articles.

"Entertainment industry" sounds good to me... no need to elaborate.
08/17/2012
I'd go with the product tester.

There are alot of people who know already, but some of my family would not be happy, in fact they might cause a rift within the family. I am the peace keeper, unless I really dont like someone, so I would rather not bring shame to my family... if thats what it would do.

I would love to tell the world... but there are others to think about as well, most importantly, my children.

Product testing sounds legit.
08/17/2012
5th one won't make them say "oh, can we see some of your writings?"
08/17/2012
DEFF A TESTER AND REVIEW. SOUNDS NICER AND POLITICALLY CORRECT
08/17/2012
Product testing is what I would go with.

#5 might be the most socially acceptable, but as Master Darkwolf said, the minute someone asks for a sample or link, the secret is out. If you're not comfortable posting it to FB, YOU ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO DO SO. I'm with Kira— tell them to screw off!

Ick 'like' a lot and the advertisements end up on the Facebook feed. Not good if your friends have kids walking around the house so I opened another account.

The closest I'd come to the truth is to claim to work for an online catalog, perhaps as a copywriter, but never in a million years would I find the courage to work as a cam girl, or admit to anyone in the real world that I've so much as reviewed a single sex toy. I'm a great big socially awkward prude with body image issues and a general terror of humans. I can barely stand up to my mom when she disapproves of my order in a restaurant or doesn't like my tee shirt, so I certainly wouldn't be telling her that EF exists. Therefore, my opinion here isn't particularly valid.

One of my other fellow cam model friends as you are Lillie. Lists herself as a work from home as a data entry clerk. I just have a homemaker on mines.
08/18/2012
I just leave it blank, but I don't cave to pressure.
08/18/2012
Eh, it's just Facebook. Put whatever you want or leave it blank. People take Facebook wayyyy too seriously.
08/18/2012
Testing and reviewing. It's accurate.
08/18/2012
I picked online magazine, but other posters are right...people will be asking for examples and links. You could say you give online advice, and due to the privacy of your clients you cannot provide any additional information.
Or just leave it blank. People are so nosy sometimes!

I feel you. Almost everything I do for pay at this point is somehow connected to something people would consider "dirty." =/
08/18/2012
I like product tester!
08/18/2012
Product tester seems the best.
08/18/2012
I like product tester but at the end of the day it's your facebook account and you should not be pressured to put work info on there if you don't want to. I don't think there is any shame in being a cam girl or writing for sexis or reviewing sex toys. However, I know that some people can be very judgmental of these things so I would go with something that you are comfortable with.
08/18/2012
I like Product Tester
08/18/2012
product tester can work, though I'm sure some people will ask what kind of products you test.
08/18/2012
It's probably easier to just put product tester. You do test products and let the world know how well they work
08/18/2012
guess id go with the majority
