Obviously there's a lot more to it than ethnicity, and I'm not trying to perpetuate any stereotypes, but that's just my personal observation. So I was just wondering, for all of you on Eden, what is your ethnicity?

I'm Mediterranean and Celtic. When my ancestors came over and had to go through Ellis Island, they were checked as "Mediterranean/not white." Nope, Italians were NOT considered "white people" by the USA in the late 1800s, early 1900s. I don't like the term "Caucasian." Probably the same reason African American People don't like the word Negro and why most Asian people don't care for the word "Mongoloid." Although at one time, these were considered "scientific classifications of race" it has since been shown that "race" is more complicated than that. And the words that used to be used for different "races" have often been used as slurs.
Plus, half my people weren't even considered "Caucasian" when they came over to the USA, I don't identify as such. Most of my Celtic side came through before Ellis Island, but they would have been identified as "white" although they were treated terribly. Putting "No Irish Allowed" or "No Irish Need Apply" on many places was common years ago, when that side of my family arrived here.
My husband is Eastern European. I guess he's white, as were his ancestors considered so when they came through Ellis Island.

I'd be interested in more of a country breakdown than states because then that would leave a LOT of members out, since a good deal of members aren't from the United States.
