I would like to be happy, but also be a good person and make a difference in the world - even if only on a small scale.

As a Christian, my first goal is to glorify God and have a growing relationship with Him (notice - I didn't say "religion"). My next goal is to have a happy and healthy marriage (32 years now and growing stronger all the time). My kids and extended family are next and then friends and others that I'm around.

If I'm growing in those relationships and at peace with those people - then I feel like I'm achieving my ultimate goal.

I hope one day when I get to heaven to hear the words, "Well done, good & faithful servant".

To make someone's life better! (As a Christian, this is how I feel I've been called in Faith)

I think my goal in life is to ensure that my children will have everything they need be it education, inspiration or encouragement to be able to make our world a better place. Our very future depends on what we do today with our children.

OK, I put first to be rich, happy, successful, to have fun, travel and pursue knowledge. I picked rich because it would help me to travel, have fun and pursue knowledge( which lets face it, knowledge isn't cheap)I will be happ as long as I have my family by my side and the rich would help me to pursue my dream of owning my own business. Being rich won't make me successful but to be honest it makes it somewhat easier to obtain the rest.

Ultimate goal would be to be happy

Other: Really it is the to be happy option, but that is by the make lots of money option, followed by the retire early option and then do most of the other options.

Can I just say how happy I am to see fellow Christians on here?! So many in our faith are convinced that sex is evil...even in the context of marriage, they aren't able to enjoy the gift God gave us.

In answer to the OP, my goals in life are: 1.) to glorify God, 2.) beat my depression and make all my dreams reality (Philippians 4:13!) That includes helping people and also animals, who are so dear and precious to me.

To be rich so that I can give back to those that have made me who I am today and to travel the world so that I can experience as much of what the world has to offer as I can.

Love this one!

My partner and I were discussing similar things today. We were talking about how we don't want to turn into old, grumpy people like some of our fam members. Lol. We play a lot and have tons of fun. Were were talking about how we always want to stay fun, but it's rare to see older people that are playful and all. One of my huge goals is to stay young and playful like we are now. A lot of that is due to having kids. That kind of keeps us young and playful. Lol. Of course my other goals are to be successful and I love learning. It sounds nerdy, but I LOVE knowing new things. I even sneak time for freerice.com when I feel like I need to learn a new word! Ha Ha. I made it to level 28 in less than 24 hours! It's that site where you are given a word and you have to choose a word that has the same meaning and each time you get it right, 10 grains of rice is donated. It's been around for years and I've finally remembered the site. Just today I got to donate 2,000 grains! Sorry, I'm proud of my dontated grains. Those words get hard once you get to the highest levels.

So I like fun. I want to stay fun and young. I also want to be successful in my relationships with my partner and fam, kids and friends. I want to be a successful writer and darn it I wanna get published again! I want to be somewhat successful with my design business and I've always wanted to be one of those people who make a HUGE difference in the world. Lol, OK my goals are very... big. I just want to make a really big change in at least some areas I'm passionate about. I've already started, but haven't gotten far just yet. Still, I don't think I'll be giving up soon!

Oh yeah, when I was 7 I promised myself I'd still be able to do a good cart wheel no matter how old I get. Now that has taken some work! Lol.

Yes, unfortunately knowledge isn't cheap. My grad school loans are going to kill me.

After being a poor grad student for many years and knowing so many people who lost their jobs, I've begun to question the old saying that money doesn't buy happiness. A lot of money might not necessarily make the rich happy. But, when you are scrapping by, a bit more money sure brings a smile to your face.

I just find it odd that I asked a random question about life goals and so many people made religious comments. Odd.

I don't understand what is odd about people making religious statements when asked about life goals. For many of us - our faith/religion is a major part of our life and much of what we do ties into it as far as our goals. Some folks use their vacations to go to orphanages or do work overseas at missions because their faith is that large a part of their life.

I don't think any of us were trying to "preach" or anything like that - but for many of us - our faith is a major part of who we are and what we want out of life.
