There are several forum threads talking about things you don't like about yourself or problems that you have. I'd like to have a thread where you can talk about the things that make you feel good about yourself. It can be something you were born with, or something that you did or had done to you, or some accomplishment that you worked very hard to achieve. It doesn't have to be anything big or important. It can be something that might not seem very important to anyone else, but it's important to you. Whatever it is, it's simply something that makes you feel good about who you are in some way.
I know most of us are taught that it's impolite to toot your own horn, but forget politeness for a few minutes and toot away. Spend a few moments thinking about all the things that make you feel good about yourself and share one or two or several of them here.
I'll start...
When I was in my mid-thirties, I spent a month traveling throughout the far east all by myself. I visited nine different cities in seven different countries. I visited cultural sites such as Angkor Wat, the Bayon Temple, Ta Prohm and other ancient Khmer ruins in Cambodia. I also visited not-so-cultural sites such as the infamous night markets in Bangkok. (And yes, I did go into a club and watch girls performing tricks with bananas, cigarettes and even a pair of chopsticks. I tried to find a club where I could see men do tricks, but apparently those don't exist, which is totally not fair in my opinion. Don't straight girls and gay guys deserve the same kind of entertainment?) I felt very brave and adventurous when I went on this trip, and nowadays it still makes me feel good when I can talk about my travels in the far east. It makes me feel like I'm a fun and interesting person instead of just the reclusive bookworm that I generally feel like.
