I was baptized in a Methodist church and attended as a young child - The Methodist Church allows women to fill all of the same roles as men. I then attended an Evangelical Free church as a teen and young adult (age 12-17) and while I was considering it as an option for myself was told rather sternly that it would be a sin and those who followed me would be, in turn, sinners. I was so appalled not only but what I was told but the way it was said to me that I never went back. The minister that was so harsh with me has even since left but I don't care to return. And I've yet to find another church I feel comfortable in since then (12 yrs ago) so I haven't stuck with one for any long period of time. My boyfriend now is Methodist as well though so we're trying to find a Methodist church with a younger, more active, congregation which is proving quite difficult where we live.

I don't attend a church so I won't vote in the poll, but in my synagogue there is a female Rabbi and a female Cantor.

Females can also teach in the religious school, or be the temple president.

I currently do not attend church... I am conflicted on a lot of things, and until I get the answer I seek, I would rather not attend.... In any case, i did not vote.

However, I was baptized Lutheran - I think the women can do much of anything they want, but am not too sure. If not, they should be able to.

I went to Catholic with my step dad growing up - it seems women can't do much of anything except sing in choir, or be a secretary or nun. Not very women friendly it seemed.

I consider myself nonreligious, but for a while I was attending the Mormon (Latter Day Saints) church and women were not able to hold the priesthood, perform baptisms, etc.

I was raised Catholic, although I don't practice the Catholic faith. (I refuse to be a Cafeteria Catholic and so I don't do it at all.) So, very little is available for women to do. I think they can give communion now, at least that is what I am told.

When I was a child, women were not even allowed on the altar. With our seething sexuality and all that obviously we didn't belong...

We are methodist. Women can be absolutely anything, all the way up to bishop of the entire conference. We have two women who are currently pastors in our own church.

No active leadership positions. I'm going to swap synods soon, though, and they allow female pastors.
