We have always used rawhide chews, but only those made in the USA. Never had a problem, although people keep giving us horror stories "they have heard".

We also love all kinds of squeak toys, but despite the fact our three Rottweilers love toys that make animal sounds, we have to stop buying them. They rip open too easy and we are terrified that they might swallow the batteries in those toys. Batteries in dog (or children) tummies cause very, VERY bad things to happen.

Any toys you really like for dogs? Any you suggest steering clear of?

I love the new "flat" stuffed animals!! No stuffing and they seem to last forever--unfortunately . My shih tzu has to drag hers to her doggy bed and sleep with it--or no one sleeps until it is in there!

My pom likes rawhide minis.

most of our dogs don't play with toys anymore :-( One does and likes rawhide and nylon bones, but goes through the fluffy toys too quick.

our dog kills toys VERY quickly. the only squeekee ones that last are the ones made by kong. his record is 13 seconds for an "angry birds" squeak toy
