Coffee: the caffeinated wonder that many people consider a lifeline while others look down their noses at the bitter brew. What's your relationship with coffee?

I, personally, am madly in love with coffee. My parents even got me a cappucino machine and a coffee grinder as Christmas presents last year, and I WORSHIP them! I love the smell, the taste, the variety...
However, I know that caffeine is highly addictive, and I have enough trouble managing my horomond-related headaches as it is. Hence, I only drink coffee several times I week, drinking it for a day or two and then skipping a day. Also, I'm REALLY funny about my teeth, and coffee stains like a mofo. That's my "but": I very rarely drink coffee if I won't be able to brush my teeth immediately after I'm done drinking it.

I don't have anything to do with coffee.

I sometimes go weeks without drinking anything BUT coffee.
Then my kidneys start to hurt and I'm like... shit, dude, drink some H2O.

I drink coffee anywhere from several times a week to not even drinking any for an entire month. Most of the time my stomach and my intestinal tract do not agree with it. Hooray for coffee for people with sensitive stomachs!

I love coffee but I'm not allowed to drink it due to a heart condition. So it's a rare delicacy for me.

Didn't routinely drink coffee until junior year of college. I got an espresso machine last year and it has been very good so far. I don't want to get addicted to caffeine so I try to only have one caffeinated drink per day (max, usually I have none), and I don't ingest caffeine before noon. I love coffee/espresso drinks and am very protective of them when I am enjoying them. ^_^

I like iced espresso drinks (mostly iced skim lattes), but never make them at home. I'd have one every day if I could, but they get to be expensive if you always get them at a coffee shop.

I live for coffee!!!!! I've loved it since I was a little girl. I drink several cups a day and do not care whether it's bad or good for me. Fortunately I live about a block away from a 24 hour Starbucks. LOL!
05/22/2009
I like coffee but I'm not supposed to have caffeinated drinks. So I don't drink it. Iced tea, if I drank that still, is preferred though.

I used to live in Seattle, where the coffee was plentiful and very necessary. Now I live in SoCal and I really don't know what they expect me to do with the stuff they hand me...blech.
I also have to be careful if I drink it more than three days in a row, I'll get the residual caffeine headache and it kills.

I missed the tea option above. If anyone is trying to get off coffee, i HIGHLY recommend getting into tea. It can be cheaper, it's a nice ritual, and you can make it with cream if you like creamy coffee. I literally have switched from coffee to tea for many reasons, and it's been a great help. Though I do miss the ol' cuppa jo...

You might as well hook me up to an IV filled with it. I drink 1-2 pots a day, and sometimes have a few cups before bed.
Massive caffeine addiction , I tried it for the first time when I was 3 or 4, and never looked back.

I always have the coffee pot set at night. Hubby drinks it all day long but I usually drink a couple of cups (or more) in the morning then switch off to water for the afternoon. After hubby's heart surgery, we went to 1/2 regular and 1/2 decaf. I love the flavored creamers but sugar free ones are limited..

But, this could be a serious relationship! LOL

Coffee requires a serious relationship. No fussing about, "I'm-not-sure-what-I-w ant-yet" crap from this dark, delicious drink! "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!" it demands!
(Yes, I am REALLY cracked out on coffee right now.)

Best quote EVER:
"It is inhumane, in my opinion, to force people who have a genuine medical need for coffee to wait in line behind people who apparently view it as some kind of recreational activity. I bet this kind of thing does not happen to heroin addicts. I bet that when serious heroin addicts go to purchase their heroin, they do not tolerate waiting in line while some dilettante in front of them orders a hazelnut smack-a-cino with cinnamon sprinkles." ~Dave Barry

I like it but..it has to be french vanilla cappucino when it is chilly, and an iced mocha when it is hot. I liek the Frappacinos, LOVE Cinnabon's Mocha lotta Chill, don't really like Starbucks or Mc Donalds, and my favorite ever iced coffe is the Burger King Mocha Joe. I probably don't count as a coffee drinker since most of mine are milk, sugar, and flavoring.

I'll get my Starbucks maybe twice a month at most. It's my little treat to myself. Even then, I might opt for the non-coffee stuff like the Iced Passion Tea Lemonade, but I usually make that myself at home.

When I read the name of the thread, it was really late, and I was like, "Haha, I just read "college" as "coffee" because I'm so tired." Because of that other similarly-worded thread about college. ^_^ So yeah I laughed at myself when I saw that it actually said "coffee."

Coffee and I have an open LTR. I'm still free to drink green tea, mate and other beverages but I always come home to a good cup of organic fair trade java.

This describes my drinking habits perfectly. I drink green and mate tea at work because its easier to deal with that brewing coffee. But I'd really prefer to drink mostly coffee.

I'm with Adriana, I have nothing to do with coffee. I can appreciate the difference between crappy coffee and really "good" stuff if you force me to taste it, but I could happily go for the rest of my life without tasting anything remotely coffee-like, and be happy. I'm a tea girl myself, but I'm picky... very very picky.
That doesn't mean that I do without caffeine, college student that I am. I just get mine mostly from non-beverage sources. Candies, for instance. And caffeinated mints. And I'm very careful not to let myself get addicted: if I have to have caffeine to get through a few hard days, I'll then go a week without it.
And for the record, blooming/display teas are AWESOME. Pretty, and delicious. (unfortunately, too expensive to treat myself to. That's what tea-obsessed parents are for...)
