do you think masturbation is a bad addiction? if someone is depressed and as tried many ways of dealing with it but the only way of copping and easing the pain is by masturbating several times a day do you think that is bad or should the person continue?

If it's causing issues, then it may be an addiction. As in, you don't go to work because you're masturbating. Or you masturbate rather than have sex with a partner. If it's just something you do often, it's not an addiction.

I agree with Kira, if it is interfering with work,school or a relationship then it maybe an addiction. If you masturbate to masturbate to relieve yourself I see nothing wrong with it.

I'll echo Kira. If it interfers with work and relationships you may have a problem. Otherwise it's a fun hobby.

This. If someone is doing something enough that it's causing the same life problems as any other addiction, it's bad. I wouldn't say masturbation was a worse one to have than any other addiction though!
