I write songs and poems in my spare time and I also love to read. My husband and I enjoy fishing and riding bikes together. I thought this would be an interesting way to know a bit more about each other.

I'm a gamer. Not a video-gamer, but a real dice and paper gamer. I LARP (you can see the group I belong to on my profile page banner).
I also like to explore Detroit and the rest of the metro area.

I like endeavors where I can use my hands, and I generally enjoy digging down and learning everything I can about whatever my current interest happens to be. When I started biking, my biggest free-time activity was learning how to bikes are built, and eventually building one. Now I'm a biker and I bike nearly daily but I don't read book after webpage after book about it anymore, and other things have taken the limelight. So... my hobby might be 'learning new things.'
The one thing I've always got my eyes trained to is cooking. A few years ago I learned everything about being vegan, then I learned everything about Carribbean cooking, then Ethiopian, then Indian... I started up baking a year and a half ago, and now I'm on to classic American food... but I'm always building, so everything I've learned continues to be used.
I'm super interested in reading about economics. I think that's the only pursuit that takes a lot of my time that isn't translated into something tangible in my life.

Right now I am working on learning the lap steel guitar(also known as a slide steel guitar). Not to be confuse with a standard steel guitar, the lap steel is played, as it sounds, in your lap. I use finger picks and a slide.
It took me several weeks just to find a teacher, and that is a 45 minute trip just to my teacher's house. It has been lots of fun so far, but I only a new learner.

I play piano and I love to read. I also coach at the local high school, but I don't know I can take it much longer - the girls don't want to learn anything they just want to socialize and get their gym credits.

i like to talk about art and occasionally make sculptures; i also like to sew and read good books

I'm with you on the cooking - the mess makes it not so fun.

Most of my hobbies have come and gone, but I've always liked to read...and go for long walks in the woods, especially if there's a dog around to go with me.

I like to draw and do origami. I like reading fantasy/scifi comedies, but I read more serious ones too. But a bit of comedy mixed in is really nice. I play games (video games and computer games) sometimes, but that interest tends to come and go. I've gotten into the Lolita fashion scene and meet up with others lately. I also go to A-kon every year and regularly go to a local anime club.

Like you, I'm a perpetual student. I love to deeply explore things that interest me and so many things interest me. I figure as long as I still have my intellectual curiosity, life will still be worth living!

I am a passionate organic gardener & seed saver; a silkpainter & artist; musician of several instruments; heavy reader; jewelry maker and I do lots of crafts such as knitting, sewing... Currently, I'm into self-sufficiency & preparedness. I'm studying different food preservation techniques such as fermentation, canning, drying & how to be prepared to get by with no electricity, etc.
