What gets on your nerves on Facebook?

Contributor: PumpkinPasty PumpkinPasty
My latest pet peeve: People who post pictures of abused / mutilated animals. I get why they do it. to stop abuse and hopefully bring attention to it, but when you're reading your feed and it pops up in your face, it's hard to deal with. And I don't deal well with it.

What's yours?

Lol. FB period! HA HA. Kidding. I'm not a big Facebooker, but I do have a business page and a personal page. I really don't use them much and I should stay more "in tune" with them, especially my business page, but it's so.. chaotic! Lol. I totally would be pissed if I'd seen the animal abuse. You should report it. Do you know how? Under the photo there's something I think it simply says" report" it'll give you option to contact the person or block them and at the very bottom there's a smaller box you can tick that says "report to FB" or something like that. Do it! I f'n hate abuse and it doesn't make the people look big and bad or cool it makes em' look sick and terrible! It's not like animals can fight back.

Someone once posted an awful, gory photo of deer they'd killed and mutilated and I know that isn't illegal, but it was really disgusting to put on FB and it made my eyes tear up and my stomach rumble. Can't handle that stuff.

If it were me, I'd report the abusing photos/vids and tell the person that it's disgusting to abuse.

FB itself. Zuckerberg and his programmers look it over and say "Is anything working right and people like it?" They find something that doesn't need to be fixed, then fuck it up and make people hate him and his programmers more.

And yet we can't get out because it's the only way to keep contact with everyone else.

As for friends and family, the conspiracy theorists and conservatives get on my nerves the most ... followed by the endless links to music videos and drunken rants. I've had to block a few because of their bad behavior. FB - the only place where your friends and family block you and your enemy visits your page the most.

A plus, though - every now and again, Mulder posts something that reminds me to be glad that he dumped me.

I agree, this new trend is not something I particularly like. Plus, actually do something about it versus posting a picture. I have been donating and/or volunteering at no kill shelters since I was 14. THAT'S doing something about it.

This is in reference to the first post about the abused animal pictures.

Nothing really gets on my nerves on FB. I get a little annoyed at those type of pictures the OP is referring to, but it's nothing I make a big deal about or give a second thought to.

The changes don't bother me either, I like how they're keeping the site up-to-date and relevant.

If I understand what OP is talking about, the abuser isn't posting pictures of the abused animals. That would be incredibly illegal. No, I think OP means that there are people who are non-abusers who post pictures of abused animals, so that they can show that animals are being abused. I've only seen it once or twice on my wall, but it really disturbed me and I can see how these pictures can be triggers for others. What I said to the posters is that yes, animals are abused, but instead of posting these horrible pictures, it's better to give money to the Humane Society or ASPCA.

I don't like people who post fifty million pictures of their kids. Yes, we all get you have children and that you love them dearly. That's totally normal for a parent to experience. But I don't need to see fifty pictures of little Johnny picking his nose or scratching his ass. If I wanted to see a kid do that, I'd skype my brother.

I also don't like the constantly changing privacy settings. I know what I post isn't meant to be 100% private, but I also don't want random individuals to know what I do or who my family is. It's just weird.

I've not seen these kinds of posts on my page. I am getting tired of people posting endless lists of music videos for music I just don't listen to. They take up a LOT of room.

As for people's pics, if they have pics on their albums I don't care to see, I don't click on them. I personally love to see my friends' children. I think babies and kids are adorable, and I have friends and family whose kids I would rarely see if they didn't post pic of their children.

I do hate when people post about things that happened to them and mention people as if I keep track of every single detail of their lives every minute of the day. "Bill and I went to Target and we saw a... LOL, whale toy! LOL!" I have NO freakin' idea who "Bill" is, nor do I know what their injoke about "whales" is. I usually ignore these posts, but so many people seem to think they are on some kind of stage when they post on Facebook. There are, what, 350,000 people on Facebook? I can't keep track of the details of everyone.

Yeah, people sharing completely depressing stories. And people checking in to the same place every day.

The constant changes. It was fine how it was when I joined in 2006, and I've hated every single modification. I do not want a timeline.

Haha, there are enough Facebook accounts for something like 2/3 of the planet.

I also dislike the constant changes, but the thing that I think drives me the most crazy when looking at my "news stream" is seeing the same grammatically poor rantings over and over again. I don't care about a few misplaced commas or periods or misspelled words. I'm talking posts where nothing is capitalized, almost everything is misspelled, and it's always some rant about how "I'm so fucking tired of this shit, every day it's the same thing, well fuck you and fuck that and fuck whatever else" or "omg did you seriously think I wouldn't find out" or "Omg this bitch over here" and stuff like that. I know I should probably remove them from my friend's list, but I have various reasons for why I haven't and have taken to just unsubscribing from their posts.

Also, the "this is what society things/this is what so and so thinks/this is what I actually do" meme. It was cool and thoughtful at first, but I'm really kind of tired of seeing it.

People thinking that they can tell you how to act on Facebook. I understand common courtesy is important but i hate people telling me i cant curse or talk about my love-life. I mean come on people i am a married adult with 2 kids!!

I am just irritated at the whole concept of facebook. I am on there for my family but do not check it unless prodded by them to look at the new pics, etc.

Honestly, just about everything nowadays. I prefer the facebook when it was only open to a few schools.
