What do you use YOUR cell phone for?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
Today, with the hurricane skirting our coast, I realized how much I use my cell phone now. I was watching live satillite, and checking weather reports. I used the GPS on the phone to find a battery store with some generator parts I needed, I made calls/texts and checked my email, then I used the "computer" function to access my home computer and check on my security cams at home to see if the wind was really effecting the backyard, so I knew if I should go home and put away the lawn furniture I had decided to leave out last night, when they were predicting lower winds here.

It was AMAZING having all that at my fingertips.

SO...how do YOU use YOUR cell phone???

I use my cell phone for all sorts of things. It can't do everything that a computer can, but it can do a lot more than just a phone can. I can't get moving radar images (at least I don't think, but I haven't checked either) but I can check the weather, and most pages load just fine on my phone. I can check my email, call and text. Provided of course that the signal is there...

I use my phone just to call or text people and as an alarm clock. It is capable of surfing the Internet, but I prefer to use my computer.

Phone calls, texts, my husband does stumbledupon all day long on it plus chats with friends. I also chat with my boss occasionally.

Just phone calls, believe it or not. I'd rather be sitting in front of a computer with a nice large screen and a full-size keyboard for the other stuff.

I use it just for phone calls, texting and taking pictures. I don't own a smart phone, but it can access the internet. I tried it before and found it very confusing and difficult to navigate. I honestly prefer to just use my computer, plus I don't really have any need to use the internet when I'm out and about. (Oh yeah, I use it as my alarm clock too, and as a stopwatch, and I use the calendar to remind me of appointments sometimes too.)

The only reason why I have a cell phone is so that I can text my friends everyone once and a while. I would not miss it if I have to go without it.
