I don't own a webcam or dedicated video recorder, but I have a smart phone and ipod touch with solid recording ability. The problem I'm having in using them is how to rig the phone or ipod so that it stays put while I'm recording. The phone has a kickstand, but it's design makes the camera point to high. Any thoughts?
What do you use to make a video review?

Could you place a book/magazine under the kickstand to angle it forward more? Alternatively, could you hook the kickstand over something such as a laptop screen and then angle the screen downward? I guess I'd really have to see what type of kickstand you're talking about.

I been using my phone camera. It has pretty good resolution, and I don't have to sit in front of the computer to do it I generally have someone holding the phone for me.

I use my webcam on my computer. It's fairly high quality, but I have to work to get the lighting right.
