All of those stories are disturbing, but that first one takes the cake. The mother ate her 3 1/2 week old child? That makes me ill.

Yup. Cannibalism is not the same as "zombies"

I think that as long as there are mental issues that are left untreated for various reasons, (misdiagnosis, lack of family responsibility in making sure a person with issues gets treatment and cost being the majority of them), the crimes are going to get more shocking and horrifying. The media also plays a part in sensationalizing the crime and adding the horrifying details. There are also the new designer and desperation drugs added to the mix...so where does it stop? What is it going to take to realize it is not the crime that needs help afterwards but the people that need help BEFORE these crimes can occur???

WTF!!!! I'm at a loss for words.
For the media to spin flat out "FUCKING CRAZY!!!" into a zombie story makes me utterly sick to death! Who in the fuck decides to take it into that direction?! What messed up journalist says "Hey...maybe that crazy bitch was a zombie?! Let's run with that!"
Get the fuck out of here! Jesus H Christ! What the hell is going on in this world?!

I'm pretty sure that thing about the mom eating her kid was due to this experimental drug she did and it went all wrong and all bad and that was the result...
she probably had some latent mental disorder of some sort to accompany it or maybe it just affected her bad...

supposedly the others have been dug up from bad drug experiences and just general insanity from the past 30+ years and aren't recent

idk my brother looked into those events pretty heavy I didn't personally read up on them

I don't understand the media at all. These kind of events have always happened, but now they make a huge deal about them. There are a lot of reports of mothers eating their children, people attacking others and eating them, and so much more. They have all been linked to underlying mental health issues or drug use with mental health issues. I just don't get how now these stories are popular.

It's just like when all the popular names you can (Elisabeth Smart, Natalee Halloway, etc.) went missing, it was huge news. Yet, when the girl I went to school with went missing, it wasn't even in the local paper.

Zombies are the new monsters of our age. Happens every time there's economic uncertainty - a catch-all monster is glorified as a tangible target. Personally, I think it's like hunting animals in the woods - they don't shoot back, so it gives people a sense of power.

Honestly, cannibalism is different than zombie-ism. Would anyone else call Jeffery Dhamer or Hannibal Lector zombies just because they ate flesh? No, they're called cannibals. Anyway, the traditional voudoun zombie magic is rather boring stuff compared to popular culture's interpretation of it.
