For me the more remote place the better, but it's still alright and needed to have necessary places nearby... ^^
What kind of place do you prefer? :)

I live in the city and love it!

I like how quiet small towns are. I couldn't imagine living somewhere loud and busy.

I love my small town.

I picked big town, but I really mean suburb. I like living right outside the city since I'm close enough to do all of the fun city stuff, but I don't actually have to live there.

I've lived in suburbs all my life, spent a little time in a small town/rural area, and now I'm ready to try the big city! (Which will probably eat me alive.) So maybe call it a compromise and say big town.

I wish I were in the middle of nowhere right now with some peace and quiet.

live in a small city moving to a small town soon

Love living near a city!

Depends on my mood, I love them all.

I'm from a small town and now I live in the middle of nowhere. I like both, but miss walking to town and knowing all the locals.

I need to be in the city close to things.

I like to be in a small city.
Currently, I'm located out in the middle, and I sort of hate it.

I understand what ya mean. I've lived in the same place ever since I was born I absolutely love it here, in the small area with mountains. It's not exactly secluded, but not a big area at all and pretty quiet and peaceful. I just love it here so I do prefer it. I say all the time that I could never leave this place. I don't think I'd be happy anywhere else. The people are kind, I guess it's true the whole "Southern hospitality" thing. I get responses from people (several times I've had people here on EF tell me this too) saying that they've visited Georgia or know people here and "the people are so kind!" I never realized that it wasn't like that every where else. Of course there are bad people here too, but in general, most people are very kind here. I like that. I like people, close and friendly people that'll have a 2 hour conversation with you as you're leaving the gas station Those moments really can be nice.

Now, I totally get the whole needing to have places nearby. Dear heavens, we have nothing but a post office, lots of gas stations, CVS, some restaraunts, grocery stores, etc, but there's no wal-mart or big places like that. Often when we need basic household things, we've had to travel a good 40 min. to the nearesr Wal-Mart. That can be annoying! We have a lot of Dollar Stores lol It's hard though because if you need to go shopping (besides for groceries) you have to actually travel a good hour-hour and a half. I don't mind it too much though because the drive can be fun/interesting Still, when I need something right away, it's such a pain to have to wait or either travel that far. I have to make a 40 min drive JUST for nail supplies (I work in nail design) and that can be extremely annoying.

i've lived in both the city and the country and i DEFINITELY prefer the city... i live in country now and there is NOTHING around ... its boring and sucks
04/28/2012
I can't live in a city or a large town, for some reason they really freak me out. I prefer small towns where I can easily drive to a large town if I need to, but far enough removed from everything so it's still quiet and peaceful.

I do like the middle of nowhere most of the time, but would actually prefer to live on a farm or ranch. Unfortunately, we don't have the money for that right now...maybe someday.

I like being in the heart of the city.

I don't like the idea of living in a HUGE place like new york or something, but the big town I live in is just the right size for me.

I prefer cities, bigger cities. There are more resources living in the cities. There are more places to shop, eat and have fun. Plus people aren't into your privacy.

I chose 'middle of nowhere,' but I tend to have mixed feelings about it. I love the big city conveniences, but I hate all the concrete and the being constantly surrounded by tons of people. If it were up to me, I'd live in the middle of a 1000 acre wooded lot, with just enough cleared for my house, yard, and a road that takes me to the main highway, where I could get to a big city in ~20 minutes. Unfortunately, I don't think such a place exists, but it's nice to dream. LOL!

I live in a small town but I like the middle of nowhere

I like small towns - I've always lived rurally and I enjoy it, but it is nice to be close to some sort of social and commercial center so that I can go to events and meet more people.

I LOVE big towns or cities. I grew up in a small town and it always made me feel isolated.

I'm a city person all the way. Rural areas are for vacations.
