Hope this poll is great, eager to hear. I've had it all lol
Great post! How interesting. I am a hard-core dreamer. I guess that is why they interest me soooo much. I like to try and pick them apart & find the "meanings." I got a dream dictionary when I was a teenager and have used that thing ever since!
My dreams are outrageous. I usually have a flashback/horror/night mare type of dream at least once a week (usually much more than that) from a past bad experience. A lot of times, like last night, bits of my current life are mixed into that experience from my past. It makes it even worse.
I also have the totally crazy ones from out of nowhere! Last week one of my dreams were that I'd went to see my mom, she gave me a $5 bill for some reason & later I went to this store that sold bracelets. Lots of pretty bracelets & I seen one I had to have, so I go to the counter to pay with my strange $5 bill from my mom & suddenly the bill doesn't look anything like a $5 bill, but is more like a large computer sheet of paper with something on it. I hand it to the cashier like it's nothing & she flips out on me saying "OMG! You are a 'sex worker!" LOL. Then I was so astonished & told her I wasn't any kind of sex worker & asked why she thought that. She said whoever signed this (very strange) $5 bill is a sex worker. I said "My moma is not a sex worker! She's the manager of ******!" LOL What kind of dream is that?! Weird, but hilarious. I told the cashier the name of the store my mom was the manager of & she was still freaking out on me. I could not figure out where that dream came from since I hadn't read or watched or even talked about anything like that. Ha Ha. I had to tell my mom all about it the next day.
Another dream I had that same night was that this man I know shot me in the ankle (I dream of this certain man I know shooting or trying to shoot me and my sisters all the time! I don't know why!) And it turned out, the "bullet," which looked like a rolled up ball of paper had some type of poison in it & after so long of it being in my ankle, the poison would release & I'd die! I know where that detail came from though -- I had been researching fatal poisons (castor beans and cyanide in particular) for my novel I'm writing. Trying to figure out how I'm going to kill off one of my characters. LOL. So that's partly where the crazy poison-releasing-bulle t came from.
A lot of my dreams, in my opinion, have to do with my current life. Certain stresses or if I'm trying to avoid something or even if I'm in a more creative frame of mind earlier that day -- it all ties in together & usually makes sense to whatever is going on in my life. Unless it's a flash-back of my bad experience kind of dream, it usually does tie into what's going on in my life (or my crazy head!) at the moment. I find the meanings of dreams so fun & knowing them has actually been kind of insightful for me. A lot, really. I don't take them too seriously, but I do enjoy the whole mess of knowing what dream detail means what. There have been times when I've dreamed I was reviewing! Talk about tiring trying to write sentences in my sleep. I used to dream I was reading and would actually have words come out in my head, not out of my mouth or anything, but if I was on the egde of waking, I would remember these crazy ass, non-existant "words" I was reading in my sleep! I hate when that happens. Seems like it only happens when my mind is really racing too much to get into a deep, relaxing sleep.
I have multiple dreams each time I sleep, almost.
