So I'm almost done recovering from the worse cold I ever had in my life and it makes me wonder. What does everyone here do with when your sick. Do you tough it out with grace and dignity. Do you spend the day in bed unable to move? Do you have any home remedies you like to use etc.
What do you do when your sick?

I usually try to sleep it away if it's a real bad one and drink plenty of water.

I mope around and complain.... haha. I'll lay in bed all day with my computer and watch movies. I don't really have any home remedies. I usually just take regular medicine.

I lay in bed a lot. If I am nauseous I take ginger root, but usually I try to sleep it off.

If I'm not throwing up then I still have to get my butt to work. If I am than I spend the day sleeping on the bathroom floor.

If I can catch it early enough, I like to lay in bed and sleep for a few days. Otherwise I just mope around and do everything I normally do, but super slow because I have no energy whatsoever.

I make a date with the couch and don't move until I've gotten plenty of rest.

I try to sleep it off. When I'm supposed to babysit I ask the parents to get another babysitter, I don't want to infect any children. Otherwise I usually try to go to work.

Slather myself with Vicks, sleep a lot, complain I am sick

I go to bed when I'm sick, getting up 2-3x a day for hot baths (simulating a fever, killing the virus), take zicam, suck on cough drops, and try to stay asleep.

If I feel a sickness coming, I have some whiskey, take a hot shower, and wear sweats to bed and sweat it out. It works almost every time. I hardly ever get sick. And when I am sick, I just try to tough it out.

I take lots of pills and go to work and stick it out. I have a pretty high tolerence for sickness.
I did have H1N1, I didn't get off the couch for three days. That was the only exception.

If there is no fever I just tough it out. Drink lots of fluids, eat a ton of spicy food and find activity's that make me sweat. Anything to make a body sweat, pee or cause a runny nose will get the virus out faster. For fevers it's lots of fluids, very little food (Hight temp's will double cook food) and lots of sleep.
Emergen-c and cranberry juice help a bunch for me.

I just let my wife baby me. Sometimes, when I feel better, I fake it to get that extra special attention! When I really get sick, I sleep. I have been known to sleep over two days straight, without waking. Then again, I am prone to viral pneumonia and asthma.

Tough it out. The kids don't take a break just cause I'm sick..

I stay in bed and sweat it out. Sometimes if I've got fluid in my chest, I make a concoction of hot whisky, honey and lemon. Once I drink that; I'm better the next day!

Stay in bed and sleep a lot..

I have to be really sick to not go into work, and in that case it's plenty of water, not much food, and a ton of sleep.

Sleep
I'm not sick often. I haven't missed work in 4 years, since spring 2007.

To answer my own question my colds are usually pretty mild so I usually tough it out at most I spend a day in bed if I have time. However this last one was brutal I was in bed asleep for a whole week end and felt horrible for days after that. Usually I just take some over the counter cold meds.
