I've been dieting and I'm contemplating buying a heavy bag/punching bag. I heard it's a great workout to burn a lot of calories. What do you guys do to stay fit?
What do you do to exercise? BESIDES SEX lol

Walks, Treadmill, Elliptical, Swim laps, and hit the gym. It's walking distance at our apartment complex, so it's not too bad.

I'm a dancer and have always danced for pleasure and fitness (as well as professionally/teachin g). I love dance because you can do it anywhere and make it as high or low impact as you want - and it's FUN, which is a big requirement for me when it comes to exercising. I also do a lot of swimming, stationary biking, and walking on the treadmill since I currently live in a complex with a gym. And I'm a fan of workout videos - my favorites are YogaZone, zumba, and Ana Brett & Ravi Singh's videos. I picked up hooping a couple years ago - something else that's fun and surprisingly an amazing workout, although occasionally embarrassing since the only space big enough to do it (for me) is outside. But there are SO many different things to learn and try out with it, and you can work almost any part of your body.

I walk a lot, esp. in the fall and spring. I also play tennis and swim. I have a weight routing that I do at the gym every other day and I try and do some yoga at least twice a day (in the morning and evening).

I ride my bike to work, which takes about an hour each way. But my bike is in disrepair right now. Gotta get that fixed pronto!

I like to walk or jog, swim, and work out with weights. I also love using a jump rope, and now that it's warm enough I can finally start doing that. I also occasionally use a DVD to do some yoga and ballet stretching exercises. I was going to Curves for about a year, too, but in two days they are going out of business. I'd love to get a treadmill, but I really don't have any room for one right now.

I love my wii fit plus! That and walking and stairs, I go up and down 2 flights of stairs frequently. Plus, I count calories. I've already gone from a size 18 to almost 12 (depends on the day! :p ) but would like to drop one more size.
But the wii fit is awesome. I love all the options it has.

So the Wii Fit really works? It looked like a sissy workout to me so I passed it up. I guess I'm in to the things that hurt a little bit, like kickboxing, running, etc. It's ironic because I am a size 16 in pants right now. It really goes with my body type and heigh though, so it's not a huge deal that I am size 16 - I would just rather be a 10 or an 8 like I was at age 17. So I decided to get back in some HEAVY motion, and punching things appeals to me. In high school we used heavy/punching bags almost every week for 2-3 days and those were probably the leanest of days in my life.

I have Epilepsy and the meds have made me gain a lot of weight over the last 10/12 years. So it's something a little bit out of my hands. I already work out quite often (5 times a week) yet I maintain the same 195 lbs. I don't look it, honestly. When I tell my friends they asked me to stop lying. I look more like a 130 or a 145. Slightly overweight, but not obese. I embrace my body, but I would like to look at pictures without wishing I could change my arms or my tummy.

I'm not trying to lose weight, but I do exercise to stay healthy and help give me energy. Each morning I do a 30 minute workout tape. Usually Walk Away The Pounds (because I like Leslie, and it is easy to follow along with, WHILE still giving me a great workout.)
I also do strength training a couple of times per week with free weights, and my husband and me go for walks and jogs (depending on our energy) at night.
In the summer, we nix the walks and just swim in the pool! And when I say swim, I mean we do laps for thirty minutes to an hour before we just splash around and have fun.

I'm a huge Leslie sansone fan as well! And even if I'm not doing one of her dvd's, I just walk outside. It's low impact, easy to avoid injury (I'm a major klutz), and great for my whole body.

The heavy punching bag will certainly help and as a bonus helps with frustration.

I am a kick-boxer and martial arts girl so I love the gym.
I also walk, ride my bike and try to do Yoga.
I feel fortunate that I have never been on a diet but I am somewhat a fanatic about what I eat.

I've just recently decided to lose a few pounds (before it gets out of control)I don't currently have the funds to buy some equipment but I can change my diet and take the longer way to the park (me and my daughter go every day), I do squats while I'm doing dinner or stretches while I'm watching my tv shows.

work. it is a pretty physical job, so it helps me stay fit.

Yoga is soooo much fun, but it just doesn't do the job as a calorie burning activity for me. (At least I think so?) I do it around 5am-6am each morning. I don't always stay awake afterwards but it is a ritual I have had since I was a senior in high school. Yoga itself is a great stress reliever.
Other than yoga, I like workouts that get you nice and sweaty!

Lmao, I know what you mean... That's why I want a heavy bag. When I get home from a long day at work, there's no way in hell you're going to get me to change and go out for a jog lmao.

I started running about 8 months ago and it really started cutting down the pounds. I have dropped 35 pounds since I started (I was 197 and am 5'11"). I used the C25K program (couch to 5K) found at c25K.com. I have also mixed in some circuit weights and some Wii fit stuff on occasion. The fit and fit plus programs are fun but for a kick butt workout I use the Biggest Loser or Jillian Michaels games. Those are some strenuous workouts!

I use a cross trainer machine and referee soccer games (12 yr olds to high school to adults). Since I stated the cross trainer in December, I've lost 23 pounds as of this morning!

I have heard a lot of good things about the C25K! A lot of girls at work were basing their lives off this program. I didn't give it a look-see but it sounds promising. I would run but my apartment complex is in a really crowded area... literally no sidewalks, just small parking lots and stores and buildings and all that. We have a fitness center but it doesn't open until the end of summer. It's under construction. The only place we have a sidewalk-type thing is the concrete surrounding the swimming pool, and I'm not running around that thing!

I do want to look into the C25K thing, though. The heavy bag is just a really nice idea because for one, someone who lived here before us owned one and the installation is still in the ceiling. Two, it's ALLOWED. Our apartment complex people are sticklers about having large exercise equipment since we are upstairs. And three, it's there everyday when I come home. If I don't feel like getting dressed, driving to the park and running for 45 minutes, I can just start punching in my pj shorts and a t-shirt.

I started taking a pole dance fitness class recently and have gone down a pant size. Mostly I run and do yoga.
