Honestly? Hmm. Well first off, being I am an Army Wife I believe that if I ever go to a military funeral and see them there protesting I am going to stand by them with a sign saying: "Someone I love is protecting thier right to say that." Sorry, but I find it ironic that you would protest at a funeral where the person laying in that coffin died protected your right to do that.
What are your views on Westoboro?

Technically, it's highly unlikely that a soldier who died today would have died protecting such rights, as out of the current armed conflicts, not one of them is in aggression towards, nor endangering those rights and civil liberties of the American populace.
I get that it's comforting to think that they're fighting for your country, and for your freedoms, but it's not accurate.
That said, those Westboro people are certainly douches.

I was married to someone in the National Guard and we went through a deployment and my bf now is a Marine so I'm very supportive of the Armed Forces and the Westoboro people drive me crazy!! I can't believe what they are doing and I think it is so ridiculously disrespectful. Can't tell you how bad it has always aggravated me to see the stuff they are doing. Just disgusts me. I'm just going to leave it at that, or I'm going to go off on a huge rant LOL

I'm sick of seeing their protests at people's funerals. It's just insane that Westboro goes to these lengths

Honestly, they should have some level of respect! There is NO reason to protest a funeral. The person is dead! Whatever they are protesting makes zero sense. Why don't they spend time protesting things that actually mean something? There are plenty of things that need protesters.

They're a travesty, but if people stop paying attention to them, they'll get bored and wander off. The real shame is that it hurts the image of Christians, so my friends are now associated with the lunatic fringe
