Myself, I have just finished a 750ml bottle of my absolute favourite beer... and absolutely the last bottle of it I shall ever see: A Unibroue 17.
Brewed to celebrate the 17th anniversary of my favourite Quebec brewery, I have had this bottle for nearly four years... it is a testament to Unibroue's dedication to the Belgian style; a heavy Belgian ale that weighs in at a mighty 10% ABV. When I first bought a case of the stuff way back in 2007, I thought it was too heavy and astringent to the tongue - too much fruit, too much flavour, too much alcohol... but three years in, this ale has matured to perfection, and it makes me incredibly sad that this was my last one. I should have saved the rest.
Never again will I see a Unibroue 17; all I have left is the last empty bottle of this heavenly brose, never to be tasted again...
It makes Bud and Coors look like something you'd filter out of a toilet from the third world... though that would be an insult to third world toilets.
So... what are you drinking right now? less
