I have multiple friends in the D.C. area, and all said their cell phones were useless right after the quake, regardless of which service they use.
I was wondering if they were actually lost due to system overload or were the systems "shut down"? Those sure seem critical during emergencies now.
If you live in the zone that had the earthquake, do you know if your cell phone worked right after?? (My friends phones came on again within about an hour).
