vacations for christmas

I was thinking about taking my kids to Disneyland or Hawaii for Christmas vacation. They youngest is about at the right age for either of those. Plus we have never gone anywhere for a vacation during Christmas, as a family.

Anyone else thinking about going on vacation to somewhere during Christmas time? If so, where? Have you gone as a family in the past? Where did you go?

I really want to take my girlfriend to Disney too! But we recently got a puppy (she's 7 months now)...so I was thinking of taking her up north to a cabin for a week for ice fishing and whatever. It's something both of them would love to do. Good luck figuring out what to do! Disney would be great, I'd wait until your kids were at least teenagers until you took them to Hawaii...that's a special gift

We are thinking about New York for Christmas! Want to do the city Christmas tour and take my two kids to their first Broadway show, "The Munsters"
We've never taken a trip at Christmas because of Santa. My boys broke down and confessed they know there is no Santa
So we're now free to bring gifts and travel!

As a kid, my parents and I took a long trip by train and bus up and down the eatern coast: Chicago, Ny, Philadelphia, and everywhere in between.

Never went on holiday during Christmas - my mother was always "STAY AT HOME AS A FAMILY CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION" type. When Master and I first met online, we were talking about me visiting him in England during Christmas if his visit to me in May worked out (it did). When Mom caught wind of that idea, she threw a fit, so it was compromised for me to visit him between Christmas and New Year's.

But reality in the form of 'lack of finances' got in the way, so I'm not going to visit him for another couple of year. (FUCK THE ECONOMY AND UNEMPLOYMENT.) Master is saving up his holiday time so he'll visit me a few weeks around Christmas NEXT year. So, yeah, nineteen months between visits ... he's going to be walking funny for three days after he and I get to be alone in his hotel room.

I always go on vacation during the holidays. We've been all over.
This will be the first year that I can remember that I won't be going away, due to my husbands job.

The last one I took was just me and it was in 2008. I spent my grandfather's last Christmas with him. Before that I think it was 2005 or 2006 and we drove to Florida to spend time at my grandmother's condo.
