What type of person are you attracted to?

Contributor: Voir Voir
Since we all more or less have dominant characteristics that define us - what type or types of characteristics more/most strongly attract you to a person?

I listed some apparent 'negative' traits that aren't all negative - for example a vain person isn't the same as a narcissistic person and I enjoy a bit of Vanity in other people. It makes them interesting - to me... and speaks of self-love which I can appreciate.

Quiet-ish, outdoorsy, handy/DIY, independent. Also, tall, dark and handsome.

I'm attracted to mostly nerds who are semi-outgoing.

...the kinky intellectual type. xD
One of the first things aside from his looks that attracted me to my current boyfriend is how well read and creative he is. Well that, and if he wanted to he could probably charm pretty much anyone into bed.
Even better is how adorably shy he is about such talents because he's an introvert for the most part. =3

I like intellectual girls who can hold a conversation. I'm not into the high maintenance type either.

I always went for the "bad boys" when younger. Once slightly older, I went for the intelligent guys, but they had to be confident/athletic/acc omplished in the real world types. Not just "bookworm" types. It's what I ended up marrying too. A guy who was a world class athlete, and had a few post doctorate degrees behind his name at the same time (most earned after we were together, of course, but we both knew they were happening). Of course, that describes me too, so I guess he was looking for the same thing.

Hubby just read my response and said the same thing. He said that was one reason he chose me....I was the "lowest maintenance", most self reliant woman he ever met. (Even though I still want/enjoy being part of a couple...or team, rather then being alone).

Quiet, intellectual and conscientious. Now if only I could actually find someone who happens to be all three!
Honestly, though, I'm quite willing to overlook most "negative" physical features if he's kind and intelligent. Bonus points for being quiet and awkward like myself.

Intellectual, playful, responsible, Zen, self-assured, extroverted, experienced, creative, verbose ...

Hm. C really is everything I wanted in a lifemate.

Pity the child issue will get in the way.

besides the choices I selected, I like extroverts but not loud. and a biggie for me is someone w/ a great sense of humor that makes me laugh. and he has to enjoy dancing and nightclubing since dancing is a passion for me. and he's got to be honest & keep communication open w/ me. and I need to find him cute in some way. oh geez, that's just the tip of the iceberg.
