Do you need it totally quiet or dark when you sleep?

I can sleep either way...easily.

Total darkness and total quiet except for white noise, please!

on the weekends i wil sleep with my TV, but during the week i try to keep it off while im in bed since the blue light keeps the hindbrain up and tricking your brain into thinking it's 12pm. I like to sleep in near total darkness and will sometimes listen to very quiet music or keep my fan on. Some nights i will sleep with my twilight turtle (because being in my 20's this was a necessity to have) on and i found it really dose help to relax me and put me to sleep.
My partner on the other hand not only needs total darkness but also the fan on for him to be comfortable enough to get to sleep.

I CAN sleep with lights on and with noise, but I sleep better when it's dark and quiet.

I prefer to have some light(like a night light) and noise. I especially cannot have it being too quiet. I will lie in bed staring until the A/C turns on or I will put the sound of rain on youtube repeat.

I have a harder time falling asleep without some kind of distracting noise. I usually like the tv on. Hubby hates it though, he would rather have all dark and no noise.

I sleep with a sleep mask on for darkness. Sound wise, I can have light sounds, but nothing loud or conversations.

I would like it that way but it rarely happens.

I need both off. My partner doesn't do and there have been times when he falls asleep in a death hug while I am reading and I end up falling asleep with him, but then wake up like an hour later because I can't stand the light.

I like just the small amount of natural light that comes in our window and usually go to sleep with the radio playing lightly.

I can't sleep if we don't have the fan on. I need some kind of noise while I sleep. I used to need it to be totally dark, but now it doesn't seem to matter much.

Dark, completely silent and slightly cool. I can't sleep on transportation of any kind. This makes trips difficult. My DH, however, can sleep ANYWHERE.

I grew up in a busy house. I can sleep on a couch, in the middle of the day with all the windows open, the tv on, talking/yelling and people sitting down next to me/moving my legs.

However, if I have a headache/migraine, I need complete darkness and quiet for at least 8 hours or I'm a monster.

I like a little background noise but dark helps... Cooler nights help too....

Either way is fine with me, it also depends on what shift I work also.

Yes! Dark, quiet and still. My bf knows if we ever move in together, it'll be separate bedrooms.

I'm okay with any level of light, but it has to be fairly quiet. I was always like this, either -- weird, rhythmic noises (like clocks or dripping water) bug me so bad.

I need it both dark and quiet, but if I don't have one of the two, I listen to music or a podcast and that helps.

we sleep with a fan on and ambient lights, i would prefer to sleep in the dark, but if there is any little whisper of sound going on i can hear it and my brain can't shut off.

I have to have some kind of noise like music or a movie playing and it needs to be at least dimmed, if not dark, to sleep.

I am in between sometimes I like it dark and quiet. Most of the time though I have a timer set on my TV because the baby sleeps in my room too so until she goes to sleep I will cover my face and have the TV on low until I can mute it. Then once it goes off it is off until the timer goes on in the morning.

I need it very dark and very quiet, though I have an air purifier running to drown out any noises from other apartments.
