A young lady in my office just got married. Her new husband asked her point blank, "now that we are married, would you forget about the blouse and bra and please go topless around the house, I really just love to be able to see your boobs all the time...and you can adjust the thermostat to whatever you need to stay comfortable".

She was really taken aback by the question. They are both pretty mild mannered from what I get. She is not sure if she should be flattered or kind of imposed upon.

What say the folks at EF about that strange one???

I honestly was not 100% sure how to answer.

lol. I always walk around my house topless and pretty much bottomless as well. Although I normally do wear panties. It should definitely be something she wants to do. It might be awkward for some.

I do it. And definitely adjust the thermostat to keep me from beaming for all eternity. It's really nice and very freeing. I say she should give it shot and if she doesn't like it, then she doesn't like it. No harm, no foul.

I generally roam my house sans clothing, but of my own accord, not at hubby's request.

As long as it was a request and not a demand, I don't see this as being a problem.

Not sure bout the way he presented it... probably could have handled that a little better. My wife (Creamysweet) runs around the entire house and often the back yard totally naked most of the time provided the little folks are all off to the state run babysitting center (school) for the day. Mee to some of the time

I would go around naked personally since Master prefers me to not wear clothes. I also find clothes ridiculous and so it would of my own free-will, too.

However the way he approached it was kind of off-putting in my opinion. Blech.

Hmm, I would much rather go with my top on, and that's something my husband knows, so if he were to give me that speech I'd probably be a little offended that he's disregarding my wishes.

if someone's not comfortable walking around naked it can't really be forced. While it's nice that he didn't seem mean or angry, he seemed more forceful than he should have been, but that's just my thought (from someone who's usually naked at home)

I'm topless most of the time, possibly to the chagrin of my SO, he prefers tank tops with matching undies.
If I was asked like this I'd not only be thrilled, I'd take it as a compliment.

Hmmm. My husband makes comments like this all the time, but he doesn't mean it. (I mean, unless we're in the bedroom. Last night, I tried on a new lingerie (it didn't fit ) and he said that I was as sexy wearing a raggy old nightgown or preferably naked than anything traditionally "sexy." It was cute, but I'll still continue to wear sexy stuff for both of us.)

Most of the back of our house is glass, lots of windows, garden windows, etc. We have some small children in the neighborhood, people, including UPS and the mail man come to the door regularly, one of my neighbors is a creep, I have KIDS of my own, and they are around a lot. I prefer to wear a top, unless we're having sex.... there are a lot of reasons I wouldn't walk around topless, even around my own house. And I'm about the farthest thing from a prude. I just don't think it's practical. I mean, unless no one ever comes to your door or can see in your windows or glass doors.

I go topless around the house a lot and LOVE it. Very few windows....no young kids, etc etc.

I do it a lot more in the summer than the winter though and if someone comes to the door I do hide or throw on a top.

I think it's a perfectly fine request if she agrees with it. But I think it could have been asked more... subtly. Not something you want to be asked point blank, I would imagine.

First, uh how do you know of this request by her new husband? If she spoke of it at the office, I wouldn't have considered her to be quite as reserved as you alluded.
Second as long as they have privacy as in no neighbors looking into their home, no elevated train passing by big windows without blinds, it's a perfectly reasonable request, in my opinion.

If it's just a request, fine with me.

I personally only go topless if 1) I'm alone and 2) It's way too hot for me to even wear clothes. But those are my only conditions.

I, for one, can't stand wearing pants around they house. They usually come off about the time the front door closes completely, assuming there's no company.

I wouldnt have an issue being naked around the person i married. I mean, if you marry them, they're gonna see you, and at least in this lady's case the hubby clearly likes it. The only downside is if she's insecure or has some mental hangup about what's decent for her, then, well, that just sucks for both of them now doesn't it.

Good luck to anyone trying to keep clothes on me in my own home. LOL Yes, it's comfortable, but titillating my man is a pleasant side effect.

I wouldn't have a problem with a request like that, but I wouldn't want to hear it worded as a demand - that would irk me.

I demand nekkedness around the house if there's no one visiting and the room-mate is safely elsewhere. Yes, my mate is a pleasure to look at, but in all honesty I think the real reason I am this way is so I don't feel over-dressed myself. I HATE pants (skirts are worse) and will shed those things instantly given half a chance, and once you lose the pants, why bother with the rest of the clothing world?

If I'm alone I might go topless, and I like staying naked for a while after a nice long shower. But mostly that's in the summer. It's very hot here. I'll also take my top off in my bedroom if I'm hot or it's uncomfortable or something, but I keep my blinds and door closed. But he asked in a rather unappealing way. I would not have liked that. He could have broached the subject better.
