To Kindle or not to Kindle...?

Contributor: DreamWolf DreamWolf
I do want a Kindle... I so much want a Kindle...

But your books can be reached and deleted, which was also demonstrated by the manufacturers, which is an extremely awkward thing to think of, though I guess you just stay offline then, and put books on from your computer...

Anyway... Let's have a pretty Kindle, or let's just carry around the laptop to chill and read away?

The e-ink is waaay easier to read than an LCD screen. picture I took of it.

My eyes just can't focus enough to read a whole book on the computer screen. @_@

I back up all my books, anyway. The awesome and free program "Calibre" is great for this. I should really put everything on an external HD, but I don't have one yet. >.>

I Love the e-readers just because they save space and are cheaper sometimes. What I save in books goes to toys.

I have debated on getting a Kindle, but I love books. Perhaps when I go to grad school I will get one (it's a pain carrying a book in your bag on top of all the textbooks).

I so love my kindle. I've read seven books already this year--every one of them on the kindle, because I can just pull it out on my lunch break, or in line at the bank, or waiting for the bus, or...

...Or in a hundred more places than I'd be able or willing to lug a heavy book.

I LOVE my kindle i have read over 200 books on it already and most of those were romance novels. I let my husband use it to read his starwars books as well. I think they are great and totaly worth having.

my kindle is amazing. If your looking for a different kind though make sure it has the E-ink technology. i had gone through 3 Kobo's from Walmart before going to the Kindle. between that and my I-Pad I have read more books in a year than I have in my whole life.

I always purchase real books if I really like them, but I would also appreciate a Kindle so I could take them all with me.

It depends I have no strong preferences for fiction of casual reading but for things like text references books I prefer a real book. Ironically however those are the ones I'll seek out the e-book version because of how much cheaper they are.

I have a color lcd e-book reader, I hate the way e-ink reads entire screen flash when you change the page drives me crazy.

It's way too hard on my eyes to read on a computer screen all the time. I really want a Kindle as a space saver, but I really hate the vicious tactics Amazon is using to monopolize the publishing industry.

I have a nook in the original version, but I'd suggest a nook color since it is very much like a smaller tablet...

I love my kindle! I have the first 2 generations. I will probably get the touch one day, but have not been tempted by the kindle fire. I still buy paper books too, but esp for romance books and erotica I like the kindle. you read it and delete it. I read lots of romance and erotica and I don't want it laying around the house. So far this is working out well for me.
