She's become a hot topic lately and I'd like to know what others think.
Thoughts on Michelle Malkin?

I have no idea who she is.

I've never heard that name before.

She's a Republican blogger. I don't always agree with what she says, but I'm shocked by how racist and sexist the attacks on her usually are. I've heard a few just saying she's horrible because she's a Republican, but most criticisms I've heard are laced with references to her being female and Asian, as if that had any relevance.
She seems a lot less concerned with being extreme than Ann Coulter. I haven't really read her blog very much, since I don't watch TV and I vote Libertarian, so I don't know why she's been an issue lately.

I haven't seen a lot of attacks on her regarding race or sex. She herself doesn't consider herself Asian and quite honestly, majority of Asians don't want to be associated with her.

I've never heard that, and my family is majority Asian, mostly Chinese and Filipino.
But considering I've rarely seen anyone who is not conservative refer to her without calling her 'the Asian whore/bitch', I've seen a lot of racist and sexist attacks against her.

Interesting. Yeah my family's Asian mainly and they despise her but they don't attack her race or sex, I think they feel by doing so they're admitting a failure in themselves? And activists, historians, professors that I've been around who criticize her never factor her race or gender. She and Ann Coulter though

She's made some lists of the things she's been called by the media, other bloggers, and so-called intellectuals - "mashed-up bag of meat wearing lipstick" is probably the most polite one, courtesy of Keith Olbermann.
I think conservative women need to be more extreme, because they are attacked far more viciously. They aren't feted for their "bravery" for coming out for the same things that everyone in their circle is for. She said that Rush Limbaugh calling Sandra Fluke a slut was wrong, but wondered why she didn't also spark a discussion on embedded misogyny when repeat columnists for Huffington Post referred to her as a Manila Bay whore, and continue to do the same.
There are very severe consequences for being a vocal non-liberal woman in the public eye, mostly coming down between one being brainwashed or one being a whore, as if women who aren't Democrats could not possibly have decided to vote differently because they believe differently.

I think those that do pick on her race or gender, unless it's directly related to what she herself has said, are doing themselves an injustice. She doesn't consider herself a minority and being a woman shouldn't make a difference. The actual content of what she says is what I focus on. I think the consequences of being a vocal non-liberal seem more severe because there are fewer of them. Personally there aren't many views I agree with from the non-liberal party, whether they come from men or women. What's shocking is when either says something that is just inhumane. I think I care too much to be in politics.
