Think what you're drinking is good for you?

While I was browsing around and looking for stuff to read, I came across the 5 worst beach body foods. I've never put too much thought into it personally, but definitely wasn't surprised to see Diet Coke on the list. Broccoli maybe, but Diet Coke no. But then it also linked to the 20 worst drinks in America. Now this list had some surprises for me. I guess mostly because I never really thought about it before, but the list even starts off with water. Yes, water. I wasn't really surprised to see Starbucks on the list a few times, but I never really thought of Arizona as a particularly bad offender, and I love Sunkist soda. After checking out that slideshow, I'm definitely going to make sure to avoid a few of those beverages.

i could see how those could be the worst things to drink. a lot of diet drinks have artificial sweetener, which can cause you to bloat. i read somewhere once that diet drinks really aren't that great. this is why i could see how vitamin or flavored water would make the list. i usually just drink plain old water. i love it, it doesn't taste like a watered down fruit drink, & it has no fat or calories.

Those are interesting articles - not too many surprises on there, although Diet Coke (for the reasons they gave) was a bit of one.

I stick with plain filtered water most of the time. A mt dew every once in a while.

Well, lets be honest, the list didn't start off with water. It started of with with a flavored sugar-filled drink. Big difference.

I don't care. I don't function well without my Diet Coke. Everything else I could live without. But at 5:30 am when my eyes are too blurry to fidget with coffee, I can still find and open a can.

It was still marketed as water though. Yes it's a flavored sugar-filled drink, but it's a flavored sugar-filled drink that says it's a water right on the label.

Most soda pop is bad for you anyway, diet or no. Diet only means that it has some questionable chemicals in it that make it taste like food, not that it actually does your body any good.

I can never give up diet pop. Though, I don't eat or drink anything else on either of those lists.

I tend not to consume processed drinks. At home, I stick with filtered water, tea, and homemade green smoothies (greens + fruit, no added juice or sugar). That being said, diet Sunkist/diet Fanta are my weaknesses! I do drink beer or other alcoholic drinks when we're out.
