My husband and I are totally dog people, but our room mates are cat people. We're constantly bickering (playfully) about which is better.

I like both but if I had to choose I would say cats

I don't have any pets but I think I'd prefer a cat because they're not as noisy and make less of a mess of things.

I like dogs, cats and points. Dogs are more overtly and reliably affectionate; that's why I'd pick dogs if I had to pick.
