I was wondering what people think of tattoos. Since I was a teenager I've thought of getting a tattoo or a few tattoos, but I've never been absolutely sure I'd want any idea I've come up with. What do you all think of them?

Hot? Nasty? Only some are hot? Meaningful? Against your religion?

Do you have tattoos? What are they of? What do they mean?

What was your first tattoo? Why did you get it?

What about the really intense tattoos, like vagina/penis tattoos? They look so painful! Are they? What are your thoughts on those?

Any commentary about tattoos in general would be cool to read about!

I think they are pretty cool for the most part. I have always wanted one too, just still haven't decided on what to get.

I like tattoos. I have one and plan on more. My rule is find that you really want wait a year and if you still want it get it. It is all about want you like and want.

I like tattoos on some people, not as much on others.

I have over 60 hours of tattoo work. Love some, hate some. Have had some removed.

My first tattoo was an anchor on my palm when I was 17. I got it because my bf at the time was a beginner tattoo artist. It was dumb.

All tattoos are painful. Tattoo removal is a million times more painful. It's horrible, trust me. So is someone telling you your tattoos are ugly.

Comments about tattoos in general? Don't get one if you don't know what you want to get. You have your whole life to choose and getting something just because you want a tattoo will generally leave you with regret.

I have two. Both have deep meaning for me and I sat on each design more than a year before actually committing.
