Take it back?

If you could take back anything you ever said to anyone, what would it be and who was it to?

I told my sons father I hated him. It really hurt him and even though we haven't been together for years I still feel really bad about it.

I think mine is similar. I told my parents I hated them. In the middle of teenage angst but still...

I was a bit of an arse in my late teens, and there's a plethora of things I'd take back. I would take back all the manipulative things I'd said to my friends, then.

Not a thing, people often don't look at past events and time for the double edged sword it really is.
If you were, in theory, to go back in time to change even one little thing you said or did you could undo any positive things that may have come from that very event.
For example:
Say you were a drug addict for five years and eventually someone came along, helped you get clean, and eventually you two got married and had a few kids...
Now say it's twenty years down the road and the kids have moved out, and you wonder what it could have been like without the stint as an addict...
You go back and 'fix' it only to return to the present and find that having never been an addict you never met your partner and never had children, and that you somehow wound up being homeless and miserable.

It's like Newton's third law of motion, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
You can't go back and change something you think had only a negative outcome on your life without risking anything good in it too.

I can't think of anything I'd take back that I've said.

I agree with you, but we're talking about regretting something we said, not did.
