I think it's a sad, sad example of caving under political pressure. Okay, we get it: Planned Paernthood performs abortions. But they also privode other services to families, many of them critical and life-saving, and all the public can think about is the controversiality of the abortion service. And Susan G. Komen's move to stop funding Planned Parenthood is going to send the wrong (in my humble opinion) message to the public regarding Planned Parenthood as an organization.

Planned Parenthood does all that for women? I never knew! I only thought they performed abortions and gave away free condoms and, I don't know, maybe birth control? I'm 22, sexually-active, and I've never been to a gynecologist because I've been poor my whole life (including now) and I simply can't afford it. When faced with the choice of a screening or food and gas, I'm going to choose the latter. I'm not even on birth control because it's also out of the question financially. I know this is a bit off-topic but could I go to Planned Parenthood to seek help for these things?

ON-TOPIC NOW: I do think that's sad that Susan G. Komen would do that considering how apparently helpful Planned Parenthood really is to women. I don't support abortion but even I can agree that's wrong.

And that's another thing about PP, they operate on a sliding scale, so even those who can't afford the services can get them for much less or possibly free!

Seriously, how can America really hate on them?
