I am very stubborn and independent...yes it has bitten me in the butt many times, but I am working on these, toning them down a bit. I believe a healthy amount of these feelings are good, but mine is a bit extreme. Anyone else with these traits? How have you dealt with/learned to live with them?

I am very independent and always have been. It took moving to another country where my native language is not the language that is spoken to try to learn how to ask people for help. Now, when I ask for help it is a little on the funny side as some people now think because I ask for help I am weak. I learnt that asking someone for help is actually makes me stronger as a person.
Being stubborn I was so good at this as a teenager, but I seemed to grow out of it during my twenties.
Being proud on the other hand, I am proud of what I accomplish and I think that is a healthy trait. But I don't think I am overly proud like some of the people around me where I cannot admit I am wrong, or asking for a lending hand when doing something. I now my limits, and from time to time I try to push those limits, but I still know them and respect my limits.

I don't think I'm stubborn, but I am very independant and tend to be funny about things because of it. I mean, I wouldn't say I'm so independant that I won't even let people help me, not at all. But I am the kind of person who is independant and gets things done without needing other people's help all the time. I do need and accept help and support all the time, but am still independant. If that makes sense. So I'd say it's a healthy level.

I am too and it has me too. I try to pay attention to it and tone it down.

I am not stubborn or proud in the least. I have the opposite problem...if I don't watch out I can get walked all over.

I'm not. I dislike change. So that sometimes can cause some stubbornness.

I am definitely stubborn. I do wish I could be a little more open at certain times, but stubborn is sometimes necessary.
