Strangest Wedding You've Seen

Contributor: Tori Rebel Tori Rebel
My boyfriend and I were at the big Cabela's store in Pennsylvania last weekend and about 10 minutes after we arrived we heard an announcement over the storewide PA system - Congratulations to ____ and _____ on their wedding - then a bunch of cheering. We didn't think much of it until we got downstairs and noticed lots of very formally dressed people meandering around, and upon leaving saw the bride and groom being photographed out front - the groom clad in a camoflage suit and hat, the bride in a white dress with a camouflage panel in the back of the dress. They had apparently been wed in the store itself and I'm so kicking myself for not snapping a few photos while I was there.

Any other funny/strange/unusual weddings out there?

One of my aunts was married in a full camo dress and her hubby (well, ex hubby) was dressed in a camo suit. I tried to convince her to do a bright orange veil, but she didn't. It was.... a sight to see that's for sure. LOL

That sounds awesome! Were you near Harrisburg? I grew up around there, and I can picture a lot of people copying that idea!

I think the Cabela's is in Hamburg. I have no idea where that is in comparison...I'm not good with PA geography, I leave that up to the man

When we went to the Kiss concert in July, there were some couples renewing their vows, and some getting married right before the start. That was pretty interesting, and probably the strangest I've ever seen.

Klassy ... with a capital 'K'.

Witnessed a wedding at a Renaissance festival I worked at as a teenager. It wasn't romantic with the 'town criers' repeating everything. And the dragons (jumbo jets) flying overhead.

I have worked at a bunch of weddings so I've seen plenty of strange things. One was really over the top and had fireworks, showgirls, break dancers, and a magician. One couple had a casino themed wedding, which was kind of fun. There was a super nerdy one where the wedding party was dressed in renaissance costumes, the bride carried a stack of books instead of flowers, and instead of dancing at the reception they had big screens set up so the guests could play video games. Also a Halloween wedding where everyone was encouraged to show up in costume.

My Man and I got married pretty regular, (although not Catholic, because I refused to "promise" not to use birth control.) But, in between the wedding and the reception, I had a taste for White Castle hamburgers (the Baby wanted them) and so the entire wedding party went to White Castle in full wedding dress. Sadly, we only have ONE picture of it, and it isn't a good one.

We're waiting in line for our food, and I'm standing there in my wedding dress, him in his tuxedo, the wedding party dressed up, and I start whining, "D, why is everyone staring at us?"

A few months later White Castle did a commercial with a wedding party at the place, and I insisted they got the idea from our party. Most likely not, though.
