Strangest food you have tried?

Apparently I like to talk about food. (lol) So, what is the strangest food that you have tasted and what was your experience with that?

Off the top of my head, caviar-topped seafood mousse thing. We went to August's in New Orleans and they gave us that in little eggshells. What was weird to me was how buttery and sweet it tasted even though it was seafood... It was delicious, though.

Not sure whether many people consider this to be "strange", but it was something I would have never wanted to try. At a Chinese buffet I had fried frog legs, I wasn't a big fan.

Octopus in a San Francisco sushi bar once. Weird texture. I also tried escargot in France, tasted like mushrooms.

I was an elementary school teacher in Japan for a while. In Japan, school lunch is not just something for the kids, the teachers are required to eat it as well. One day, lunch was some little fried fish. After taking a few bites, I realized that the fish I was eating was...pregnant!

I know that people like fish eggs, but I would like them outside of the mother fish. I get sick just thinking about that meal...

Alligator. I'm extremely unadventurous when it comes to food. I'm a perpetual five year old when it comes to my diet. I have texture issues.

Eel. He didn't tell me at the time what was in the sushi...
Wasn't that bad.

Just remembered this. Took a college class when I started out in the big city and it was one of those "get used to living here" dealies. So this one in particular took the class out every other week to some district/ cultural section to sample the cuisine. There would be 5 tables and one of them would be called the "Fear Factor" table, as the more exotic foods would be served only there.
Curried baby octopus (chewy), boiled sheep head (tasty) and pickled pig's feet (drew the line) come to mind as well as eel for the more strange foods I've eaten.

I've heard that about ants, something about the poison they carry while living makes them taste bitter.

I find it strange that octopus and eel are considered strange; they're fairly common seafood ingredients.

Something I ate recently- prosciutto ice cream.

Rose ice cream is common in South Asia, especially in the dessert falooda.

Wow, I am wimpy compared everyone else here. The weirdest thing I have ever tried was kimchi. That's not very weird at all!
