Stopping To Smell The Roses...As A Couple!

Contributor: js250 js250
Life gets crazy, time slides away and everyone is just so damn busy. When your lives get crazy and you are running around-often neglecting the good of the relationship-and the nervous breakdown is just around the corner, do you and your partner...
--Sit out at night for a bit to stargaze?
--Take a moonlight walk?
--Sit by a creek, pond, river or the beach and just hold hands?
--Go to a park and swing on the swings?
--Explore a flea market, bazaar or other crafty/homemade/unique venue?
--Toss a frisbee, play badminton or other fun game?
--Have a picnic in the yard after dark?

Sometimes the best things in life are smelling the roses together--taking time out of life for each other and reconnecting on the basic, fun-filled or relaxing tangent you were on before your life was so crazy.....

Lots of good ideas there - thanks. We like to walk/hike together, have dinner and go to church.

I've been on the verge of a nervous breakdown for two weeks. One night last week, my partner and I just sat outside in the yard til' 3 AM! We were both exhausted the next day, but it was helpful.

Other things I do regularly to help keep the stress levels low is crafting like beading, sewing, etc. I also clean when I am stressed. Beading and all is therapeutic for me.

We try to do things together like that. Some of them are: hold hands and take walks, sit in the park and talk, go bowling, grab dinner, have a picnic, go to flea markets and thrift shops, etc.

Sometimes we just need a time out--so we get back to the basics and just breathe for a bit together. It saves a lot of misdirected feelings later and brings a calm to the storm.
