I heard about this just a few moments ago and I'm a bit shocked! I feel like... I'm not sure, like part of a great technological movement of my childhood has just had its first big... loss. I'm not sure if that really describes it well, but it just feels like an era has ended. But of course a new one has begun.

So sad for him and his family and friends. He was such a visionary and we should be thanking him for his contributions to society.

He was a really great product designer; he knew what consumers wanted before they did! It's a huge loss, even people that aren't Mac fans can agree!

I was so sad to see the headlines. I hate how he suffered so terribly and for so long.

Aside from being an incredible visionary and inventor, he seemed as though he was a genuinely kind and warm human being--the kind of person who sets a wonderful example for his fellow human beings. He was loved by many and will be widely missed and always, always remembered.

RIP, Mr. Jobs . . .

I heard about this and my boyfriend immediately started cracking jokes and puns over his name. -eyeroll-

But I think it's quite a loss for the world. And how inspiring, knowing that in spite of great illness, he still strove for newer and better things. A great innovator, he will be missed the most by those who loved him dearly, I am sure.

I've never been an Apple computer/products fan - but there is no doubt that Steve Jobs changed the world for the better. There are very few in world that you can that about. I trust God has welcomed him with open arms.

I just did a presentation on him for school. He was a true visionary and I really admired him.

It was expected, but it's still bad that it happened so soon.

I was never a huge Apple user, but I do acknowledge and admire that Steve Jobs was quite a visionary, and has made a profound impact on the world for the better, even if I'm not a big fan of Apple products specifically. I'm sad we'll never be able to find out what he had coming next, but I'm glad he's not suffering anymore.

I'm curious how many people on here actually knew Steve Jobs? They were actually talking about this on the radio this morning.
