My mother's boyfriend can be an ass sometimes, but I know that he means well and I am still fond of him. If he and my mom lived together I'd probably go crazy, but I like seeing him every now and then lol.

My step father is dead, but he was a wonderful man. he was very good to my mom and I got a brother out of the deal. My step mother is alive and is one of the sweetest people I know. Which is weird, because both of my parents are stone cold crazy.

My 'step' father, who I consider my real father (dad) and I are so much alike it's crazy. We're pretty much the same person in every sense, except for sex, children and education. I love him so much and am thankful everyday that he accepted me into his life.

I use to hate my Step Dad, I don't anymore. He just has a different way of thinking and has been wonderful to my mom in the past 25 yrs.

I love my step mom. I'm probably closer with her than I am with my father. .She's really nice and just overall an amazing person.

My mom's common law husband has been around since I was 14 and while I don't consider myself friends with him, I do like him, we get along, he's always been around, and he makes my mother very happy and that's what matters. My father's wife however is a sociopath just like he is so while they're wonderfully matched for one another, I don't have a thing to do with either of them. Before her my father was with another woman for 6 years that I was closer to than my mom though.

My step-dad is dead. He was an asshole and abused me every day of my life. I hated living there every day.

I no longer have a step-mother, that I'm aware of...but my dad married and divorced quite a bit when I was a child. The first one I remember, I liked very very much. The second one treated me quite poorly and I really didn't like her kids.

I have a step dad. He's been around since I was 13, and while I still call him Pete, he knows that it means dad. He's one of the most wonderful people in my life. He treats my mom like a goddess, and between my mom's three kids, and his two, we have a big, crazy family, that only gets closer as we all get older. I think of his kids like my own brother and sister, and his family is my family. I used to come home from school every day and sit on his office floor and just talk for an hour. Now we sit around and smoke pipes and drink beer together.
My husband has a step-dad and step-mom of his own, and he is as close to them as he is his biological parents. And since you don't just marry the man, you marry the family, I feel like the luckiest in-law in the world.

My parents are still married (my grandparents were as well, divorce is very rare in my family) Arch's parents are still married but Sigel has had the WORST luck in the parent and step-parent arena.
The girls consider Arch to be their step father reasoning that if it were legal he would be married to me. Sigel is Monkey's legal step parent (another reason the girls call Arch their step dad). My oldest chick is very close to Arch but the younger chick goes to him when she's in trouble easier than to her own father, especially if it's school related. She uses Arch as a sounding board before going to Sigel so it's still a great relationship. Monkey calls them both Daddy though he does know the difference and shows a preference for Arch when he has a booboo.
