I was really into doing cardio up until I hurt my foot. I'm getting surgery soon to correct it but in the meantime I really want to do something besides diet. I have hand and wrist weights here at home but I'm lacking ideas of what I can do to get in shape by either sitting or laying down. I hope a few people here can help give me ideas. Thanks if you do I just don't want to sit around for a couple months doing nothing & let my hopes of losing weight die because I can't be very active for awhile.
stationary exercise suggestions?

I did a Google search on "exercising while sitting", and came up with a TON of links, check them out: link
I think the Arthritis Foundation might even have info on an exercise routine while seated, so you might check out their website too.
More than likely, you can still do almost all your normal strength training exercises... lifting free weights, using exercise bands, etc. while seated. Good luck to you!

@Zombirella
You could hold plank position on your knees, that'll work your arms and core.
