Sports for diet...

Contributor: DreamWolf DreamWolf
Of course we know how important it is to move some regularly to stay healthy, and it is an essential part of diets too, but do you really take the efforts, or just try to eat as healthy as possible?

Actually, I'm kind of other: We stay active as a couple (mostly walking and some adventuring) and I have an active job that takes me into the field (ecologist). We are both vegetarians and, by definition, we have a healthy diet. We don't, however, watch calories or whatever.

I TRY to do sports, but i hurt my ankle and knee bad a few years ago, and it hurts a LOT sometimes. I love soccer though. For me it's really hard to eat well, Since it seems it's more expensive to eat healthy then eat pasta. *sigh*

I... Run when I'm late to my classes! I think that that should count as exercise! I pace when I'm trying to write papers, I run to the kitchen to make frozen dinners, and I dodge and jump over things in the cafeteria!

I'm not the sporty type!
Last time on my diet, I walked and walked to lose the weight. This time I haven't done any exercise - yet.
I know I'll have to get on the Wii for workouts before too long, but I like to allow my body to get use to a strict diet for a couple of weeks before I shock the crap out of it with exercise too....lol.
That's my excuse!

I lift weights and do cardio (usually the elliptical). I'm working a lot harder to eat healthier. I need more veggies and fruits in my diet though.

I have been trying to get in shape lately because I have just started feeling generally sick and crappy every day. I have been completely changing my diet and I bought a recumbant bike for my back to make things easier on my bad back. Im also looking to get back into martial arts so I can do something other than type or punch wires. Its more of an issue of not having time than not having will.

Well yeah, as long as you move it off it pretty much doesn't matter what you eat, like the funny often mentioned example that those old farmers didn't care and ate bacon and any fatty stuff, but you didn't see no fat farmer...

Indeed, though if you have a few free minutes every day and a little corner with good sun and shades it's the cheapest to grow some of your own, my ultimate fave if tomatoes, they are the easiest to breed!

Well, shocking is no good for you as I know, walking must be enough, as it is the most natural way to keep yer muscles active, and it makes you get used to more and more slowly, so you don't have to worry about weirding your system out...

I try to eat generally healthy. I don't like most sports, though I like combat sports, dance, and hiking. I just registered for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, so hopefully fundraising and training will get me walking out and around.

I really try, I do.

I used to exercise every single day. I walked/ran, did archery and went roller skating. I was in much better shape then.

My advise is that if you already have an exercise plan that is working for you, stick to it! It's so hard to get back into the pattern or regular exercise and healthy eating once you've broken from it.

I exercise 4-5 days a week. I've been doing this...well, since FOREVER. I was going to say I've been doing it my whole adult life, but of course, I was even more active as a kid.

We humans are meant to be active; we don't do well when we're sedentary.

Being a vegan I eat healthy, but when it comes to exercise or sports, I don't do either. I do walk a lot though.
