sports and friends

Do you have a friend who gets angry when their favorite sports team loses a game? I have a good friend, and we watch most of our teams football games together. Our team had a great year last year, only lost the championship game, but only lost it by a few points. He got upset by it, it wasn't too bad. But this year, they lost another game early in the season and he got so upset that he wont watch anymore games. I even had tickets to one game, and he would not go with me.

To me it just seemed childish. Every team loses, its part of life. You win some, you lose some. Do you know anyone like this? Is this normal? I would think that it was not normal, but do not know for sure. He is the only person I know like that.

As an ex-bartender, I have seen more people carried away by sports games than I thought was possible. Try kindergarten behavior! I do admit I was super jacked when the US won the Motocross of Nations again!! And I get a bit worked up when Villopoto loses in the nationals and supercross but I still love a great race. The only sport I am into is Motocross, so I also have no room to really talk, but for what it's worth, there's my two and a half cents. (Of course if we would have lost the MxofN, my answer might have been a bit different!LOL!!

In my youth I would get very upset when my team was losing and would feel horrible inside if they lost. But, I was always ready to watch them compete the next week.

js250, I raced motocross in the 1970's and 80's and still love the sport, though I don't watch it as much as I watch International Soccer and MMA nowadays. Roger Decoster was one of my heros.

I don't personally get that upset. My teams have conditioned me to be ok with losing, lol. I do know a couple of people that I would personally not watch a game with if my team was going against their team. Just ridiculous in my opinion.

Amazing isnt it. Its just as amazing as seeing a little league game or a childrens soccer game and seeing parents scream and yell over a game a 9 year old is playing. Really brings out who they are deep inside. Not cool.

Believe it or not I actually got into a fist fight with a good friend of mine over "Mortal Kombat" I beat him third time in a row and he couldent take it, next thing I know we are trading shots in my living room.

I am a big Decoster fan, too! I was able to meet and talk to him four years ago at Washougal. Amazing talent! Suzuki was sure f*ed up to not contract him! I raced three times before I was injured in a car wreck and loved it!

I'm not really into spectator sports, but I go to the sports bars for the drink specials I've seen so many brawls break out over the games! I split my time between Boston and NY - what a gruesome yet hilarious train wreck of a rivalry that is, lol.

I have seen way more fights break out over video games than league sports. When you're playing games, you're invested in the action! And when someone pulls a fatality on your player, it's like a part of you has died. In a gamer way.
