Soup in Summer? Hot, Cold or None?

I grew up on SOUP...even HOT Chicken or Potato Soup in winter OR summer. My wife will only consider HOT soup in cold winter months...but may get a COLD soup..if we are out dining.

We have a dinner party coming up. I want to serve a HOT Tomato Basil Soup and a cold STRAWBERRY CHAMPAGNE soup. She is saying "maybe the COLD soup", but it is over 100 degrees out, at NIGHT. Who wants soup???

SO...any opinions. Help us set the menu. SOUP OR NOT??? (During this HOT, HOT summer supper). YES, it is INDOORS in AIR CONDITIONING.

I make chicken soup once a week for my boyfriend. He loves it so much that ill stand in the hot kitchen for 4 hours once a week for him.

i love hot soup all yr round. my favorite is anne burrell's french onion soup. it's amazing!!! my mom also makes an amazing vegie soup w/ chunks of stew meat in it.

I've had both-cold soups still seem a bit strange to me but I'll eat them when it's hot outside. And chicken soup is always in season!

If I want soup, I don't care what the season is, I eat it. lol. Since it's inside and air conditioned, both sound fine to me.

I like hot soup. I'll let it cool a bit more than I would in the winter, but it's still hot when I eat it.

Even if it is hot outside, as long as where I am eating the soup is not too hot then I prefer hot soup. I recently went to Panera on a really hot day and had a bowl of soup. The cashier looked at me funny when I ordered

Hot soup is fine, but I hate cold soups. It all just depends on my mood, not the weather.

Either works for me. Heat doesn't matter to me.

I like home made soup any way i can get it cold soup is ok

Is Eden going to plan the entire menu for you?

I love soup and I don't care what time of year it is, though I do prefer cream-based soups in the winter versus the summer.

You can't go wrong with hot soup for a dinner party, no matter what the temp, IMO.
