SODA POP. Do you stick with BRAND NAME or does it matter to you?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
Had an interesting discussion with friends and we broke about even on this. For instance, with COLA, I like COKE. Period. I deliberately get that BRAND. Others in our group don't care...Coke, Pepsi, Store brand...whatever. Brown is fine.

Same with clear drinks, or orange..etc. Seems some want BRAND NAME (Seven Up, Spirte), and some don't care.

I wonder if others are more inclined to be brand name specific on this.

How about you?

I don't like 'store brand' ANYTHING! Bit stuck up when it comes to brands. I'd rather pay more for a brand.
There is a joke around here where I tease mum for eating floor-bix if she buys the store brand of weet-bix....hehe.

While I may prefer a name brand cola, the only one I'll really go out of my way to buy is Vanilla Coke because I don't think there are any other vanilla sodas on the market at the moment. Otherwise whatever's cheapest. I know I'm not getting the best tasting thing ever, but I also like saving money where I can.

I buy BK sodas like orange, strawberry or root beer. When it comes to cola, it has to be Coke. There are no two ways about it. My step-mother used to make us drink the other BK sodas like the colas and sprite-esque drinks and I hated them. They always taste flat with too much sugar.

i like brand name soda over regular soda, but i rarely drink it so it's not a big deal. if i buy soda, it's usually a coke product

I rarely drink pop, but when I do (I sound like that guy on the Dos Ecces (sp?) commercial) I must have brand name. Either Coca Cola, Pepsi (although it is so inundated with corn syrup now, I never drink it) or Canada Dry Ginger Ale.

Hon, a lot of us don't know; what's a "floor bix" and a "weet bix?"

When it comes to cola, it HAS TO BE COKE. Although I rarely drink pop anymore, Coke has to be Coke if I'm going to drink it. When it comes to things like sprite, orange soda, etc. then oh well. Those are easily reproduced. But Coke has it's own distinct and special taste that I have to have. Same goes for Dr. Pepper. Those two cannot be reproduced.

Doesn't matter to me since I don't drink soda. ;3

I am a Coke drinker also. I can drink store brands, but they always taste a little weird. Of course, now with my kidneys I haven't actually had a cola in a REALLY long time, it's better for me to stick to the clear sodas (Sprite is my favorite of those). But a Coke every now and then is a nice little treat for me!

The only reason I'll stick to a certain brand is if it tastes different than the off-brand stuff. For example, Coca Cola tastes different than 'STORE BRAND Cola' but orange soda basically all tastes the same.

We wait till pop goes on sale than we buy a ton. That way we dont pay more than like 70 - 80 cents a bottle for a brand name pop. I refuse to pay 1.50 or whatever it is usually. Most of the time if cokes not on sale pepsi will be. So we always find something between their products.

Oh vanilla coke is awesome. We usually get coke, but if it is not on sale and something else is we get that. We try to lay off the pop. Unless we are wanting a black velvet! Then you have to have coke.

We only purchase (and drink) diet sodas, so our choices are more limited... My other half prefers Cola drinks while my preferred soda is root beer. We but Big K more often than Shasta because Big K has a better flavor as far as the root beers go.

If and when we can get name brand sodas on sale though, we prefer Coke over Pepsi. When we travel to other regions, we buy the flavored Mt. Dews (in diet) because they are not available in Eastern Washington, even though we have repeatedly requested our local stores carry them! (They claim it isn't worth their time to stock them...)

I generally like store brands, particularly Walmart's store brand. Although in the cola debate, I will always choose Pepsi. Except when Vanilla Coke is available.

I only drink Diet Coke. That's it. It's Diet Coke, or I drink water or coffee. Though, I do try to limit myself to only one Diet Coke OR one coffee a day.

The Sprecher root beer is literally the best root beer you will ever drink, if you have never had it get some, it blows all others out of the water.

We do not usually purchase this type of drink but we will occasionally get some pepsi, and when we want to make some rum and coke, well we get some coke.

I avoid any "diet" drinks as they contain aspartame which is like worse than normal sugar. It's supposed to be diet bcs there is "no sugar" which is literally true but just worse for your health, the body doesn't digest aspartame all that well.

We prefer organic juices, milk and tea, but an occasional pepsi with a movie is nice!

I will buy store brand with some things, but not soda (side note -- I used to call it pop until I dated two guys who said soda; now it's a habit to call it soda). If I want cola, I want Coke or Cherry Coke. If I want a lemon-limey soda, it's Mountain Dew, Mello Yellow, or Sundrop.

I like mt. dew. but I have not had any pop in months. Jones soda was pretty good, but I have not seen them in the stores for years. Think they went out of business.

Jones soda hasn't gone out of business. I still see them around here plenty. Maybe they sell more in certain areas. They are really good though. Strawberry lime is my favorite flavor. Their candy is pretty awesome too.
